I kinda wonder what Selen’s manager/managment is doing at all. Cause holy shit does Selen hustle. Such a shame seeing her working so god damn hard as she does for such a crappy managed company. If Selen graduates i will friggin riot i swear to god. She is the only one keeping me interested in Niji at all and she deserves so much more.
After watching this video I feel more and more bad for some graduations happened in front of my own eyes, for the case of Zaion expecially and for in general about EN and Niji state. I was used to watch a lot of streams, but in a blink of an eye I find myself in a situation were the talent I could watch was “on a break”, there is this drama, this drama, etc.(I also feel like collaborations and contents were a little bit more lack luster). And now after a lot of discuss videos I watched I feel guilty in watching some streams
Unfortunately all news channels shall be forever labeled as drama channels
hololive more wild now lol
Damn I really did watch an hour documentary about a vtuber agency failing to fix their mistakes
The best way for Niji to make the profit that is so obviously their driving goal would be to properly support and manage their talents. No one in the community is here to support the faceless company, we’re all here because there are people we like to watch working for Niji. Without the talents the company has absolutely nothing of value.
I really dont get the tribalism….why can’t we just love vtubers in general….I have many fav from both Holo & Niji…also not to forget some Vshoujos & independents
This is why I’m a fan of SPro.
It’s kinda sad, join nijisanji has being my dream for almost 2 years and see how things are going makes me sad.
This may seem off topic, but it is relevant to many of the comments in this video.
Contracts are not something you can break/end, walk away grom and be up and running somewhere else in a day. They are long, complicated and involve lawyers and review. Thus they require a LOT of time, double that if the company and talent are in different countries. Sudden termination is rare and can be expensive to the company due to the disruption it causes…which is why we have “graduations”, covering the process of removal or end of contract with a form of “final season tour”.
That is why if you see a talent leave one company and pop up elsewhere within a week, that was because they spent MONTHS planning for it. When Pikamee left VOMS and joined Shojo, she had a four-part animated series, a completely rigged model and merch all ready to go, ANY of which would have taken at least 3 months to get ready. Silvervale, Veibei amd Nyanners left after months of contract renegotiations, which ended about 2 months before it was announced they were leaving. Both Ironmouse and KSON hinted at this over the past year…and KSON also hinted that things had improved, which is how we got Henya.
This all said, this is also VShojo, one of the loosest companies to work with. Imagine how much more restrictive a typical Japanese company is. Always assume that what you see and hear about people coming and going to be a work of long months behind the scenes.
Sasuga №1 black company
There is a scummy reason nijisanji could be doing what they are… strategic destruction of competition. If you the talents that you think are good that could disrupt your business but know you dont have the resources to support them it limits their growth in a way that eliminates them as competition and if they overcome that then you reap the rewards.
I dont think they are doing that but who knows… i certainly find their behavior detestable whether they are doing it with the above strategy in mind or shear incompetence.
i hope this video save from Niji, they act like Nintendo annoying af
Here’s the thing about Nijisanji: they had the right approach but ultimately failed on execution.
They expanded rapidly trying to chase the money, then basically shot themselves in the foot as soon as their internal structure couldn’t follow up on the expansion.
Sure, they managed to pull themselves together and even learn a few things along the way, but they’re still falling short of the expected established big brand in the Vtubing world. I didn’t know about them shitting the bed in the early days of Vtubing mainly because it concerned the Japanese/Korean side of things and it was the phenomenon spread to the West. So for me, they committed a few cardinal sins:
1. Cutting off the IN branch.
All three deserved better than what they got. I realize not a lot of people tuned in to watch them but Aadya and Noor were pretty good to watch. I didn’t watch the third guy so I can’t comment on him.
2. Throwing Zaion under the buss.
A company, whose lifeblood is Vtubers, pretty much gave minimum support to the newest arrivals and subsequently treated them as second class citizens. I already didn’t believe shit once the notice came out from Nijisanji, only to be proven true once Zaion spoke out about her treatment. Not even a month in, Zaion needed help to adjust and Niji just didn’t care. She was left destitute, walking on a minefield and with each step and everything she wanted to do, something blew up in her face, which forced her to apologize to the management. Until she just couldn’t take it anymore and forced herself to quit.
Niji of course, was more worried about their brand so they made it look like Zaion was to blame for all of that, in order to prop herself (and her old persona) up.
3. Niji merch is largely absolute shit in high quantity. No quality whatsoever. Talents also earn pennies from their merch sales and Niji takes all the profit.
4. YT channel milestones are all kept by Niji, not the talents.
Although I can even understand to a point that Niji owns the characters, it’s the people behind them that give the characters life. So it makes sense that the people then get to reap the rewards of their success. Niji can eat shit for taking even this away from their talents.
I’m not watching a single Niji Vtuber anymore, simply because I don’t want to encourage shit companies exploiting their employees. None of the talents are to blame here but there’s no other way for a regular watcher to protest their idiocy until we threaten to stop the money flow. I’d like to believe that after Zaion, Niji will not let something like that happen again but I won’t hold my breath.
riku : more talents, more money for me 🤑
Holy shit this video’s growing fast.
Honestly this is why I appreciate Hololive not chucking out a whole new gen all the damn time.
The India branch shutdown stings super bad. There was so much potential with the three livers, specially two of them seeing how great they were trying. Heck, I personally used to watch Aadya judiciously because her Dark Souls runs were super enjoyable to sit through.
The absolute state of management ruined any chance of the culture growing in the country back then. 7:30am IST stream times are already the most absurd decision. Not to mention the whole EN and IN bullshit.
26:57 i said it once and i will say it again, THIS is exactly why i was so mad that people were being so short sighted as to sugest that Cover should’ve lied about Vespers supension.
