man, i love listening to people smarter than me talk about a topic I know very little about for almost an hour
This is what I love about Hololive, they treat Vtubing as a serious and expanding business that they wish to stay for years to come, that’s why they invested a lot into their development and expansion, making sure they’re stable first before getting more members, knowing they have understaff issues. Hololive memebers are also just far more well-behaved and self-controled than any other Vtubers, they usually don’t leak anything and don’t cause any drama, and mostly drama happens to them, that’s why Hololive have the most loyal fanbase
Compare that to Nijisanji, they basically just throw everything on the wall and see what sticks, they’re only using Vtubing to make quick bucks, that’s why they keep debuting more and more people, while over half of them rarely stream, or they just quietly quit and graduate without any fanfare, but they don’t care because in Nijisanji quantaty over quality, if 1 out of 20 became popular that’s good enough for them
As for their talents, they always test the boundaries, which could be good for contents, but more often than not they just cause dramas, most of their drama are all self inflicted, like Gwelu made a cover that’s throwing shades at Pekora, it’s just asking for trouble. And of course you have Petra accidentally leaked their Discord chat, which revealed what a bunch of a-holes NijisanjiEN are, just talking sh*t about how great Nijisanji is and how poorly HoloCouncil and HoloStar are doing. Even if Hololive does the same thing behind the scene, they never show that side and never leak anything like this
And yeah, the Zaion situation also showed how unprofessional and malicious Nijisnaji, as well as their members are. I remember there’s a clip of Finana accsuing Zaion for gaslighting her, which ages like milk after Zaion came out and explained the truth, basically the so-call “gaslight” was just Zaion telling them the management didn’t tell her she can’t do something, but they misinterpreted it as “Zaion lied about management said it’s ok for her to do that thing”. But overall it’s just very unprofessional and even mean for them to spread negative things about someone, knowing they don’t have the power to talk back or explain for themselves, just look at Hololive, they’re professional and don’t talk about the people that graduate in any negative way, even if mikeneko totally deserves it
Overall, Hololive builds their brand around their talents, while Nijisanji builds their talents around their brand, to a point some people legitimately don’t give a crap who they’re watching, as long as it’s Nijisanji. If you disagree, name everyone who’s currently still in Nijisanji, nobody can, recently there’s someone called Akane Asahina that’s graduating, and I ligitimately never heard or seen her before
Did this man really put an add after every section
when you’re saying that niji talents only get 2% of the merchandise sales it shocked me and then I remember when Kson twitting about this matter and someone said that hololive talents get 50% from their merchandise sales make me feel bad for niji talents.
Sadly, niji is nothing more than drama contents these days.
niji used to be a comfy place but I found myself leaning more to holo 😊
Well, their talent harassed Luna when she was in niji and stupid niji fans doxed aloe almost getting her suicide. As much as I like holo, I shit on niji cause they deserve my hate.
r u nijifag ?
46:54 I have nothing product to say, but I just want to express how upset I was when I heard that. It’s such bullshit. Talk about getting de-personed by a company. Man. There’s no conceivable reason for it. What the hell is the company going to do with a play button? It really just gives the impression that management, or whoever made this decision, is so out of touch with the culture of their audience and talents.
Remember when people said Nijisanji was way better than Hololive since they aren’t restrictive and sensitive? Well who’s laughing now 😂.
Everything I have heard about Nijisanji, is that they don’t give a flying crap about their talents over dollar bills. The ludicrous 1-2% share on merch, doing literally nothing for someone to set up a debut, talents being abandoned over someone who brings in more bucks…
People act like the main difference between Hololive and Nijisanji is idol culture vs openness, but the real difference is… Nijisanji adds talent quickly, aims at different markets, tries to get a hit as fast as they possibly can, while just barely keeping up behind the scenes. Hololive takes things slowly, patiently, expands behind the scenes and keeps their fans wanting more. I think pretty much everything in this video, in the different paths of those two companies, comes down to that. And I think it’s becoming increasingly obvious which approach works better in the long term.
I’m just surprised they hired a guy who faked his death with terminal illness (sketchek)
What’s sad is I love Niji so much, but the management is awful and doesn’t care about fans or livers- just money. While I hate that shrewd buisiness model, I love their talents all so much. They are wonderful entertainers, even if thirst-baiting sometimes- that’s not what drew me in. It was the authenticity they had. (obviously that’s different from encouraging para-social behavior) They just want to make people happy and have fun- and this company is pushing for more managers and livers to the point they slip up very often in management- which isn’t fun, but doesn’t stop the money from coming in, unfortunately. I wish someone could rectify this problem- but it probably will never be solved if management doesn’t change.
To be honest, Cover Corp finishing up their super mega studio is basically them slam dunking over every other vtuber group in the world.
If what Yagoo said about them eventually creating their own streaming service site so they wont have to use YouTube or Twitch will make them unstoppable (And also cause YouTube and Twitch to lose millions of dollars as well)
Even though I’m more of a Hololive fan, I gotta admit: Some talents on Nijisanji have got my attention and I started liking them. Just a shame Nijisanji have a “quantity over quality” mindset.
Nijisanji won’t improve. It’s public owned. It’s profit driven to the 11. It’s like when Activision bought Blizzard. Things are bad and will only worsen.
they still denial about not idol.. lol.. they have concert, so much album, original song, have original dance..
I have literally only ever heard of women and loosing their shit at hololive. And it’s always venture signaling.
The only times I have seen men have a problem with hololive they didn’t actually know what they were talking about. As in they didn’t know what a vtuber even is.
I guess there was the like 2 day long thing about the girls and boys streaming together. But that’s hardly a consistent problem.
It seems like you just wanted a comparison. So you made one up.
I wonder if ever there will be a day when the rabbit hole collapses on itself and caves in… we shall see.
Know here my take. Im ok with some of the talent but don’t like the actual company. The talent have nothing to do with the higher up decision.
