Forcing prople to dance is weirdly common with fairies and such.
Probably a good reason for that. Maybe it’s kinda like “The devil made me do it!”, but instead of using it to explain murder, you just want to dance.

The start of this game! The song at the start is “Den blomstertid nu kommer” in another language and/or different words, but it’s essentially a song praising the coming summer and in Sweden we sing it at every summer graduation. Hearing it in a horror game was quite chilling. And the theme is very much Scandinavian folklore.

This is likely based on the lore of Näcken or Nokken but also some inspiration about Hårga Song that is about a fiddler arriving to a village near the Hårga Mountain and offers to play for free. The youth then goes to the dance and one realises he has goat hooves (Being the devil) and in fear realise they can not stop dancing. Ends with all the village youths dance to death, dropping from exhaustion
