It seems crazy to me that there are viewers that would defend a cut and dry case of property rights infringement. The perpetrator was very simply in the wrong, they created a business risk for their workplace and – by association – their co-workers, and the issue has now been resolved to the satisfaction of those who had their property used without explicit consent.
The truth is, there is no “it was just a joke”. The perpetrator wrongfully kept business assets after leaving the job for which they might have required access to them, and after the rights had been transferred elsewhere, which could be alleged to be theft. They then – without the knowledge and consent of the current rights holders – used the assets they had no right to be in possession of for their own gain, as well as that of a current co-worker. Aside from the potential illegality of the actions, this also reflects poorly on the agency’s professionalism and could potentially damage their networking prospects. The perpetrator’s actions were both of questionable legality and reckless.
Bad blood between the individuals involved and the questionable necessity of the public call outs are separate issues, and should not be conflated with the core issue. The alleged theft and infringement are business and legal issues, not just an optics issue, and I’d hope that people can see this incident for what it is instead of “picking a side” thoughtlessly. It would not bode well for the indie vtuber scene if viewers don’t recognise the unauthorised usage of a vtuber’s property and identity for gain as a bad thing, especially since these two things are so important to the brand of a vtuber.
If you recognise that asset/rights theft in either direction between vtubers and artists is unacceptable, then why would asset/rights theft by one vtuber against another (resulting in gain in their reach and income) not also be unacceptable? Don’t give someone a free pass just because you’re their fan. To be clear, this isn’t a call to pitchforks, just recognise their actions for what they are, then move on peacefully and with positivity.
5:56 OK, now you cross the line, you better hoop in that idol outfit ASAP 😠
“It’S jUsT a PrAnK bRo!!!1one lulz”
How do you tell if it’s a prank or they’re being an asshole?
Who’s laughing…that’s how.
internet prank vids and prank accounts were shit in 2018, they’re shit now.
If the “prank” can involve lawsuits for IP theft, let’s not okay.
Dad’s just a little guy! It’s her birthday and she’s just a little guy!!!
You keep mispronouncing Bin Binrose
FALSE in an idol outfit… Now THAT’S an idea.
It’s still kinda odd he leaving considering a he just showed a sneak peak of 3.0.
There was also many indie vtubers using their friends’ models with permissions, as sort of an exchange for April Fools in response to the Lumi incident.
World Autism day? Good to see world wide recognition for Vtuber fans. 🙏😔
OK but, can we crowd fund an idol outfit for False? Idol arc when?
