Ame is without contest the most respected Vtuber by her peers. She inspires others, can find talents, collab with them and nurture them (Walfie, seafoamboy, Kanauru, Kiara…).

I agree Ame was the true leader of Myth from the start and to this day, but Kiara had a short time as the de-facto leader before Ame found her groove.

Just to add to the point of Amelia being the leader and protagonist. Her role in myth is something that would have agency. With the other girls you could imagine them going on and doing their own thing for potentially thousands of years with little to no change. However Amelia is the one that would actively seek out adventure and be the most likely one to actually have brought the group together in the first place (lore wise). A basic story that would involve Myth’s origin would be Amelia encountering a problem and then actively seeks out beings that could help her resolve said issue.

Now speaking of Amelia as the Vtuber, she is the one that explores the boundaries and limits of what the medium of being a vtuber is. She is generally the one at the forefront of EN that does wacky experimental things which in turn become adopted by other members, and even in some cases by the whole genre. Basically the other members play more on their strengths while Amelia goes gremlin mode, and we all love her for it.

When we don’t know how or who started the project, it’s hard to see who is the leader.

Tokino Sora explained that projects involving more members are always exhausting and everyone is doing their own part.
It’s funny how she explained hololive activities, she don’t ask collabs because her position often obligates/pressure the other member to join, and this is not what she wants to happen, it becomes more exhausting and bad experience. Each member is free to choose and focus on what they want to do. She wants to add experience that can help for future activities.

Regarding your first 3 definitions of what fans consider a leader I think we can make use of the typical 5 man band trope. The most popular of the wave is “the big guy”. This doesnt have to be the most physically big but its usually associated with reliability and presence. For example in Avatar: TLA toph was the big guy of the group even though she was the smallest height wise and yes this does mean I consider gura the big guy of holomyth. The generalist I would consider either the brain of the group or the lancer. The one who brings all together is the heart. The biggest draw of a leader in my opinion is their agency within the group. If the group needs to make a big decision the one that is respected the most and which decision seem to hold more weight is usually the leader
