I’m ambivalent on Calliope but it’s wild that people think that just because you become a vtuber or streamer, you can’t speak out against the toxic parts of its culture. The same thing happened with Aloe if I recall. I guess people will find any reason to hate someone.

At the end of the day, the content of their character seem to be decent if not good. That’s more than can be said for a lot of streamers, virtual or otherwise.

I don’t think mori is being inauthentic, at least for the most part. So she thought poorly of her current career before she got in to it years ago. I can hardly criticize her for it as I thought vtubing was weird and cringe at best and a way for greedy companies to squeeze anime fans for more money and act like corporate mouthpieces for said companies at worst before I got in to watching them. Funnily enough the first vtuber stream I ever really watched was mori and kiaras bleach brave souls collab back when I actually dabbled in that mess. I heard about it from spiteful hopes Channel and got curious. The rest is history.

It’s wild that people willingly go out of their way to group up and hate on a stranger. Like, this applies to anything, not just calli. It’s literally wasting time and emotions on something you will never get constructive closure on, in other words, unhealthy.

Oh Karen. From a local highschool musical to a world stage as a vtuber in less than a decade. I don’t think her reaction to pressure has changed much since highschool which is a problem with how big she got.

I dont watch a lot of Mori calliope I think she is one of my least watched members of EN (The reason I have to specificy EN is I don’t watch a lot of JP beyond Korone). But her music I actually enjoy such as an end of a life which hit me more personally. I have lower standards than normal people,however its not like she isnt talented she wrote Myth or treat while drunk and honestly that is a good song. There is some songs people don’t know or don’t want to talk about (Such as end of a life and cursed night) because one is actually good the other is niche. I didnt even know it existed. She has easily become my most listened to Spotify singer. For Calli as a streamer I watched like an hour of one of her streams and it was actually super chill which wasn’t what I was expecting. I can like a creator even if I don’t agree with past actions and Calli is an example. I dont agree with how she has handled some things (Even as a newer Hololive member) some of her responses weren’t good. However that doesn’t make her bad as a person. Vshojo I dont agree with what they did to Nux however I can still appreciate the content (Zentreya is someone who I watch a ton) but I can disagree with actions

Calli is probably the most introverted out of all Hololive EN Vtubers, also she is older than Holomyth(or at least I think from the age ques I picked up, I think it’s about mid/late millennial vs early Gen Z) or at least grown up in a different environment so she’s definitely a bit of an “odd one out”, but she is also hard-working, talented, and honest about herself not being the idol or comedian. her music ranges from decent to amazing, some are meh but others are masterpieces by any measure.

Maybe you should title it as “the stupid part of the internet”. This seems a little too clickbaity because obviously not the whole internet hates her (pretty sure it’s quite the opposite actually. the hate is just from a loud, pathetic minority).
