Why do people even spend energy on hating people they don’t even know irl lol ,if you got so much energy, why not spend it on something more positive ┐( ̄ヘ ̄)┌ fr though, hating something or especially someone svck A LOT of energy.. why would people even do that lol
I ain’t a fan of Mori or V-tubers in general, but I do tend to see her be dragged a lot on social media. So I decided to take a listen to her rap, which was one of the main criticisms, apparently her name was/is Demondice? And I can’t lie i personally didn’t find it enjoyable. The music was music and the lyrics were lyrics. That’s all that I’ll really say. As a black man, who’s grown up around battle rappers and such, her lyrics had no meaning imo. I’m sorry but, “Satan said I wasn’t black, male, or hood enough,” is a fucking garbage bar. Not even because it’s a white person saying it or anything like that, it wouldn’t matter who said it, that shit is ass 😭. But aside from her music, she seemed okay to me. Her personality was fine, she came across as any other vtuber to me, probably because I’m not interested in them at all, but she seemed solid all-in-all.
A critique I got is that her lyricism is too tightly wrapped around her character to the point where the songs can sound corny, which is the main drawback of her rap in general. As a causal, it comes across as them being good for only laughs. And the only reason they’re popular imo is because of the HoloLive character they’re attached to, not because they’re legit good songs on their own. On a technical level she’s perfectly capable of rapping, but the ones she writes are just pure cringe. But that is just my opinion.
She shows respect for the art of rap music and more than likely respects the black artists who came before her and are currently running the game. The people who call her racist don’t do their research and only see her whack ass rapping. While imo that song was pretty shit, she realized how flawed and tone-deaf the song and that particular verse was and deleted it. As long as she respects the art and artists and enjoys it, there ain’t nothing wrong.
I wonder how much of this is that Mori acts more American than any of the other HoloMyth talents, and the vTuber community is still extremely Japanese-centric?
Why the internet “hates Mori?
More like how dumb the people are to even think of cancelling this no-fck giving reaper queen, she has encountered literally every hater there is and she didn’t even back down a single step because she’s a hardworking masochistic workaholic who gives no fcks and kicks ass like nothing so those “hate” that she’s been getting are just fuel for her
…calling /vt/ “a little schizophrenic”. That’s like calling nitroglycerine “somewhat energetic”.
She is by far the best.
There is also old tweets from her other persona that get her hate
I’m still new to the Vtubing scene, but as a musician/engineer the hate on her music is just petty as hell, oh you don’t like the music? Cool, it’s not for you then. Props to her for for not responding to the dumb hate and still making music.
Wait, where are all these hates coming from? Im actually surprised since this is the first time I heard about this except that incident with her lecturing the other minor vtubers, but from what I can tell, most SEA fans like Japan, TW, and rest are highly positive towards her, is this like only europe-side thing?
Calli is almost universally loved, people who hate her are in the minority and are overwhelmingly drowned out by those who enjoy her content, and it really helps that in every controversy that has been pointed her way she has absolutely humiliated her haters one way or another with the way she had dealt with it, and anti’s hate being the butt of everyone’s jokes.
I’ll be the first to say that I don’t like her music and don’t rate her very high as an vtuber I usely only enjoy her in collab but to hate is just pity she doesn’t seem like a bad person ither
It’s because she’s happy to smack down the troglodytes that inhabit Twitter. That’s why those idiots scrutinise everything she’s ever done and made every attempt to cancel her.

Corrupting IRyS I think its a plus for must
She is seiso, until someone makes her say lewd stuff, or much better, she says so without prior notice, that being her moe gap ~ <3
They hate Calli for being a True to herself and a True human being, and being as honest as she can be… But, then again… You can’t change toxic people, they will boo that F1/Any other motosports Driver for one big mistake that driver made a couple of races back or lambasting that person for criticizing Windows Vista for honest reasons, or yeah… Calli, because she wants to be HERSELF. Not like a Seiso, “A typical Anime girl” kinda thing… For me Calli is the most authentic and relatable VTuber I’ve ever seen. I appreciate her giving her honest reactions/emotions, and I’m also not that kinda guy to expect EVERYTHING going perfect, or being perfect, that is the most Bullsh!t motto to have.
Also Calli taught me that I prefer to say whatever I think and being honest about it.
(A kinda tangent-ish opinion here, but I’m seeing so much toxicity ANYWHERE I go… That’s is why I Enjoy watching Calli’s Streams because is a dorky, and she makes me forget about all of it and enjoy her persona in general.)
….It doesnt? like it literally doesnt? Infact barely any Vtubers at all are hated at all? Bar obviously the people who dont like anime but you cant klnock them for that?
nah more like -why- (it’s obvious why, it’s twitter) twitter hate cali
Bit hurt you did not mention End of Life among her BEST songs released 🙁 .
Yes, not all her songs are masterpieces… like, name one artist that has a flawless track record. With as many great and wonderful songs as they may have. Some, even if good. Are not as impactful as others. And Mori is brave in seeking to create music with different sorts of people, different styles as well. She likes to experiment, and you can tell when one of those experiments just “clicks” and the song is an absolute banger.
“You joined Hololive for the fame.”
As it was pointed out in the vid. Who wouldn’t?! Are you absolutely out of your mind? Say a person is in the game industry. And got a chance to join a big game studio, like idk, Platinum Games or whatever. Even though they were not a Platinum fan. Of course they would take the opportunity. The complain is absolutely mental, just desperately trying to look for reasons to bash on someone.
I adored all the Myth girls since their debuts. It was certainly a slow burn experience, cuz they are much more open than other Holo members about their personal life. And find clever ways to give fans some insight on how their life has been. Listening to Calli openly discuss her inner struggle. With both people from in and out of her personal life, bashing on her constantly and very vocally.
Then her transition to how grateful she is that she made it. That her real life now, is the closest it would ever get to the dream she had. Hell, perhaps it went bigger than her dream. And you can feel and tell how much her friends mean to her. How meeting Kiara at the start, meant so much to her. Calli and Kiara, polar opposites when it comes to VTubing and Idol POV’s. Ended up being one of the closest pair of friends there is. Just like a fairytale, as she likes to call this moment.
I feel Calli is sincere, and soft person. She often proves as such. She is fighting through her life. To keep herself standing. Very few people can say the same. And she deserves this and much more. All the Hologirls and Hologuys, that work, even tired and sleep depraved. Deserve so so much.
it’s simple, she’s a genuinely nice, delightful and talented individual, which makes her completely unrelatable to people who are terrible in every aspect and could be used for an argument in favour of ultra-ultra-late term abortion via mallet and coathanger.
I know that it’s an unwritten rule to not speak of vtubers past life personas, however without going into specifics: one critical piece of information you’ve left out is that she’s a white suburban Texan woman who has literally said the N word repeatedly in an effort to be more like other rappers (not realizing white people don’t get an N word pass by simply being a rapper).
Also she moved to Japan because she couldn’t make it big as a rapper in the states specifically for this reason, and has said some things that play into racist stereotypes of both Japanese people and Black people in the states.
She’s basically been accused of being a privileged white woman appropriating, taking advantage of, and playing into the harmful stereotypes of other people’s non-white cultures simply to make it big and make a name for herself in the music industry. Point being, there’s some significant racial tensions surrounding her.
That said, a more charitable interpretation of all this is that she’s just innocently being a dorky white girl with a genuine love and appreciation for these cultures and her craft with no malicious intent behind any of it. Also, she was incredibly young and dumb (literally in her teens) when saying such things (like dropping the N word repeatedly and promoting racist stereotypes). She’s since then deleted that content, and said she did so for good reason because she was ignorant then. People do change.
I’m not saying she’s absolved of all her past mistakes or whatever. I’m simply saying it’s kinda understandable why a large portion of the Black community and Japanese community find her past behavior insulting (cuz there’s no denying that it is). Out of all the criticisms of Mori I’ve seen, this one seems to hold the most weight, and I think it’s crucial that people understand this when discussing the internet hate towards of her.
I feel like most of the instances where she oversleeps collabs or fails to bring much to them can be explained with just one word: overwork. Calli is well known to be a workaholic who has to juggle not one but *two* music careers with streaming and as a result she is often tired and drained. This goes double early in her career, where she was also holding a full-time job. Maybe that makes her less entertaining to watch for some, but I wish people could at least show some understanding towards her instead of assuming she’s just boring or has a bad personality.
In regards to the Coco meme review, there’s additionally the issue that Coco has a very powerful and sometimes overbearing presence to her. She is very energetic while Calli tends to be laid back, and it’s not too surprising that her wackiness overwhelmed Calli to the point where she just didn’t have very much to add. This is not a point against either of them, but perhaps their style just doesn’t “mesh” with each other all that well.
When it comes to her music, it’s kind of hard to say much since music is, by definition, very subjective. I agree with her newer releases being a little hollow when compared to the stuff on Your Mori and Live Again. However, most people who dislike her music don’t really care about that anyway. They just dislike her style as a “weeb rapper” in general and many have latched on to a song she has produced long before becoming a vtuber (one of her first songs ever, in fact, explaining its relative low quality) and just sort of refuse to admit the possibility that she may have gotten better since.
