So did you enjoy all the cancer the “hot cylinders” gave you? I bet you did.
The game is the copy of a my time at Portia?
It isn’t quite as popular as your other 100 Days videos, but this one is probably my personal favorite; something about the overall feel. I come back to it pretty regularly to have on in the background or watch before bed.
f
I watched your 100 days graveyard keeper and instantly got hooked and now i’m watching your other Hundred Days plsythroughs. You just earned a subscriber!
This video taught me that it’s pronounced “Ozzie”. Interesting
As a fellow Australian not only do I love this game I also love your videos.

Monks Hand Games Dinkum starting guide (the abridged version)
1. When you first get to the mythical land Down Under, take your time exploring. The game will remain at 10 am indefinitely, though a) you can’t save progress until you sleep, and b) you can still get tired and get injured/KO’ed. And, whatever you do that adds to an achievement will still accumulate for when you get the journal and can cash them in!
2. Speaking of achievements, there’s a few you can get easily once you have saved your progress. One is Damage Sponge (just stand in a campfire, hop out and heal/sleep, repeat until you get it), and the other is for getting KO’ed. Beware, though – when you’re revived your rescuers will help themselves to some of your dinks as compensation.
A note about dinks: they’re also items. You can store dinks just like other items, and split them into stacks just like other items – you just have to drag them into your inventory first.
3. Place the base camp in the middle of the island. It will help with traveling to all parts of the island, especially when Franklyn comes to stay and you figure out what those towers are for… Also note that there’s luggage in the corner of Fletch’s tent that you can use as early game storage.
4. Gather bush limes, quandong (I’m amazed more Aussies haven’t heard of them, apparently they’re native to Australia), bananas, and apples. Plant them as soon as possible near your village – especially quandong and bananas (which when cooked provide a lot of energy). And, fruit salad is a great, easy-to-make, early game food item.
I also like to plant tree farms of all types nearby, so that when I need hardwood planks I don’t have to run all the way to the southern pine forests or hunt down bottle trees…
5. Gather every shell you can early game. Later they’re used for making fertilizer, but early game they’re a good way to make dinks. They don’t sell for a lot, but when every dink counts it’s worthwhile.
6. Get fishing, excavating, and mining first. Get woodcutting next, and get excavation level II as soon as humanly possible. Fish are worth dinks, people request fish (and bugs) as daily challenges. You can place them just like items, so keep at least one of each in “fish prison” or “bug prison” for when someone asks for a blue moon butterfly or barcoo grunter.
Also, some of the smaller, more common fish are worth more cooked than alive. Seems that cooked freshwater or saltwater fish filets sell for 1,000 dink each, so if the fish sells for less than that cook it up and then sell it (or just eat them because fish are tasty)!
7. Once you have excavation 2, buy a metal detector. This will let you find items which are used in numerous crafting recipes, and can be sold for a good number of dinks (especially early game where dinks are at a premium and before Franklyn shows up). But DON’T SELL THE DISKS to John – hold onto them and sell to Franklyn. He pays more for them, and they unlock new gadget recipes when sold to Franklyn.
8. Speaking of visitors, work hard to convince Rayne and Franklyn to stay ASAP. Franklyn’s gadgets are very handy to have I assure you, and Rayne sells farming stuff. Get Theodore ASAP, too and donate every bug and fish you find to get extra permit points (he also gives daily challenges).
As much as we all loved Steve Irwin, Irwin isn’t quite as important as the others early on. But he’s a solid tier 2 villager to get, along with Theodore. Theodore also sells cameras – once you buy a camera go around and take photos of all the villagers as well as a photo of any fossils, rubies, thunder eggs, or amber chunks you find. You can store photos in your camera, and sometimes villagers will ask for a photo of a specific item, place, or person.
9. Plant corn, kale, cabbage, wheat, and sugar cane as soon as you can. Some you can plant year-round, some are seasonal. These are all either used for common stuff you’ll need (like animal feed) or good, easy to make food buffs like dagwood dogs and garden salad.
10. The deep mines are extremely profitable, not just in terms of ores but also in terms of special items like mining helmets and paints (and a lot of really cool stuff I won’t spoiler). But yeah they are dangerous because there’s an increased spawn rate of crocos, bush devils, and those damned bats. If you don’t like to run the deep mines, get the excavator gadgets from Franklyn – it will take time and dinks, but at least 4 should give you all the ores you’ll need if you check them regularly.
I’ll add more as I think of them! Happy, um, dinking!
