I was predisposed to be negative towards this game because all the people freaking out about “funny cute quirky cat game haha!” was all I saw about it. But the game isn’t just cute cat sim, the environments are impressively detailed and pretty, and the puzzles/levels are maybe a bit too easy but employ really good design patterns, like the colored air conditioners that guide you where to climb next. The game’s really short but quality > quantity is always better

All that to say, very well made game, not just cute kitty simulator hehe haha etc., and I knew immediately upon playing that there’d be a boundary break episode on this game lol

The round ball on the main menu is literally the player character and the reason it moves weirdly is because it’s tank controls. Forward isn’t being determined by the forward facing of the camera but the forward direction of the ball.

The red square walls are most likely prototype walls used for level blocking that were just never removed since they got covered by the level geometry.

Did you know? The fur effect in Stray is similar to how the fur effect on the Queen Bee in Super Mario Galaxy is done… Anyone remember the Super Mario Galaxy Boundary Break video? 🙂
