That untectured Ball in the menu, that’s likely the default UE free cam or spectator actor you get when creating the default level template. The fact it controls weird might just be down to the camera tool messing up the mouse position input for the spectator

I wish you had done close-ups of the low-detail city after the ceiling was open. That was the one thing I was looking forward to. Sure, its not as detailed, but seeing the familiar areas with light would have been cool.
There’s a few scenes in the game where you can scratch doors and then you can hear people inside but not open the door it would have been cool to see what was happening behind the door
Edit: there’s one door in the first robot village on the rooftops and a second door right as you enter the upper layer of the city
that doc model being loaded in for a future cutscene answers a fun little oddity i noticed in my first playthrough! after bringing him back to the slums, the HUD gave me the “meet” option as if i’d never interacted with him. i figure this sheds some light on how those flags work.
this video was excellent! it really illustrates all the love and care that went into stray, and how efficiently things were implemented
You fit Boundary Break so naturally that I actually didn’t realize that you weren’t Shezez until you said it at the end. I just didn’t think about it because everything fit perfectly.

This game despite not using any fancy lighting tech, such as Ray Tracing, is one of the most phenomenal and good looking games I’ve ever seen. And even seeing everything out of bounds, it all continues to blow me away!
10:40 the red boxes looks like they are measurements tool for the game devs (level designers).
like Sorce defult texture thats a orange background whit the unit measurement written on them.
so that you dont acidiential make a door thats 20 meters tall and not 2 meters tall.
also random mono colored cubes are usally objects that contains scrips that need something attached to them to work usally they are hiden but some times devs forget to turn them invinsible.
(think of the scrip trigger walls in HL2 there is a HL2 comand to turn them visable) this can be anything from load the next level to spawn a NPC and have it do something or have a NPC do something).
think like you run across a courtyard and when you get to the door on the other side and steep inside.
two friendly NPC spawns behind you and runs in. to make it look like they was part of the charge when in reality not that many NPC did run across the street.
also at the end I would love to see some close upps on the low level detail maybe whit a comparaty shot of the high detail version.
like I want to know how the building whit the cellphone tower at 15:14 looks up close. because it looks good at a distance but close.
