I just find it backwards that they allow for people to have a say a go-tcha evolve, and if you live in a highly populated city, you reap the rewards, but spoofing when you live in the middle of nowhere isn’t allowed, doesn’t feel right to me

I wish they’d come down as hard on multis.. I know it’s not as easy to do but it sucks having players trade between themselves at home and filling up gyms on their own

Question : I don’t spoof, but my teenager and I have always sort of played “together,” but on the same account… Like, she was too young to even have her own phone when it first started, and now she does have a phone, but doesn’t have nearly as much time or independence to play the game as I do, and she also doesn’t want to start all over with a new account. So basically, our single Trainer lives on two phones now, but she only opens it up on her phone seldomly, like maybe 5% compared to my 95%…. BUT, she is going to Europe for two weeks in July, and wants to open it up there a bit when she has time, to look around for regionals. My concern is, will the fact that she opens it up in, say, Germany on her phone on a certain day, and then just a couple hours later I open it up in the US, make Niantic think that my account is spoofing?

Yet people aren’t at a fair advantage. Pandemic is still rampant in many places. Disability and poverty rates are still very high. Fact is, this game treats people who are disabled, living in unpopulated pokemon areas and poorer players like they don’t matter. If they don’t want to allow spoofing, then they should make reasonable accommodations for people who can’t travel easily. Such as making insence work like it did during the pandemic. Return remote passes to 1coin boxes etc. But Niantics main goal is there bottom dollar, not the satisfaction of their gamers

I started Pokemon Go in 2016, played a few months, quit for 5 years. Restarted a year ago due to a coincidence. I never even knew spoofing existed. Maybe briefly heard and forgot about it. Anyway the reason I quit was it was an unreasonable game. I learnt about IVs. Also, forgot, later. I said to myself “Am I really supposed to catch thousands of the same Pokémon? Yeah, right.” Anyway when I restarted a year ago I re-learnt about IVs and this time I went with it… Oh wait, not really. I quit once more, actually had uninstalled the game and had a second phone at that time because my phone was becoming unusable. I uninstalled the game from my phone and just wanted to give this thing called PGSharp a go. I thought, who cares.

Anyway so PGS is the reason I play this game since last year. And I have to say I have a love and hate relationship with it. I am doing what I avoided 5 years ago for the last one year. Catching the same Pokémon hundreds, thousands of times.

When I started this game in 2016 I had the illusion that I would be able to catch any Pokémon if I played it good. That was not the case. When it first released it was more of a free game than now, I would say, if that’s fair.

Right now Pokémon Go is about going from one event to another and have only about 10 of the same Pokémon spawn generally, while it gives you a few more rarely or very rarely. Most of the time some Pokémon never appear even if they’re legendary or not.

This game is the fathest thing from realistic and I hate that fact while still taking it as it is because I am forced to. Legendary Pokémon as far as I’m aware don’t appear in buildings called raid in real Pokémon world. I can say that with my extremely limited knowledge of Pokémon universe. And if they for some chance do, then to hell with it as well. Legendary or rare things must be a part of a tale that can be encountered when you’re lucky or when some specific things happen, but must also be possible to be encountered without waiting a damn year for Mewtwo. I waited 6 years, in fact, now I have 17 of it, is that realistic?

Anyway that’s the gist of it, this game is built on very wrong foundations and I would be so into actually playing the game as intended if it actually was worth it. But even with spoofing I feel like I am so terribly wasting my time while just trying to get good Pokémon and at some point (and finally after reaching level 50) stop playing it so intensely and just battle at GBL (never cheated on it, don’t even know how it’s done). Because that’s the most fun part about this game and some of the few reasons to play this game aside from completing the Dex.

So yeah, if I ever get banned I will of course feel I have wasted my time and could hope to see a completed Dex but sometimes I even wish to get banned because of the way this game is broken so it doesn’t really matter. And to me spoofing exists because of Niantic and if they decide to completely kill it at some point, this game will be 80% less popular than its already not so popular state.

I would want to play this game the intended way and wish them to prevent spoofing instead of banning people but only after updating the game to the way it should’ve been 6 years ago. Will that happen? I have zero expectations. Maybe in another Pokémon game.

I spoof because live in rural town with 7 gyms and 10 pokestops. During the cranidos and shieldon event I spoofed for the first half of the event in SF and then played at home for the second half. I wasn’t able to get a shiny at home since I only have 10 pokestops in my town and we only had a limit of one research per pokestop.

All is about perspective and sometimes double moral, it makes a difference when it affects your life than went it doesn’t , even knowing it’s against the rules or it’s cheating.
Spoofing by game rules is wrong, by game ETHICS it”s like, if it does not affect you no harm done BUT In many cases spoofers that leech ridiculously on gyms do really SUCK, taking over 10 gyms in less than 20 minutes when a normal walking person takes over an hour to do all this and is never able to even pass 10 minutes defending these Gyms because you gets spoofed with in seconds.
Let not make cheating a normal thing, its; easier to see cheaters from far than getting cheated.
If you don’t care now you can’t care when it affects you or others beside you.

I agree and disagree. My opinion is that niantic have ultimately made the game completely unfair to play. Regional Pokémon that are out of reach. Unless like you said someone actually goes to that specific location around the world at a cost. So called in game tasks, egg hatches, raids etc etc has now become nothing but a money Gamble which leads me to my next point. Pogo has ultimately become a gambling format without the up front percentages of said point in game. Stating you may be lucky is not an actual statement but a tease. Some very very big companies have been sued for this exact thing, I myself have been drawn into that gambling bracket before now when chasing a specific hatch or raid shiny. Never again. Example last 7k egg hatch I managed to complete 189 egg hatches in the week to absolutely no shiny hatch. So once again if they are going to do these they need to be stating the percentage of possibility on an encounter across the board.

I think the way you spoof is important to check to be honest people can,t walk more then 1000 kilometers for egg hatching a shiny and some countries are bigger then other one and that’s unfair also there is a big problem with legendary raids or other strong raids you will always 9/10 can,t complete a raid because the raidboss is to strong to defeat with just 2 people in a legendary raid

fair game? what’s fair about it when some players don’t have but 1 gym and a few stops and look at Zaragoza Spain? new York and Australia has alot of stops and when you try to get a stop in your area get denied what’s fair about it, and make people travel and spend money to go to another country to just play tbh being from a spoof community if the remove spoofing there you go 70% of the player base this game is not Goin to last spoofer spend more money into this game but yea sounds fair Niantic 🤨 keep denying stops beside most of legal players come to us for the trades we’ll see where this game ends up in 2 years
