As long as you don’t camp gyms I can’t be mad at spoofers. I’m heavily considering starting given that Niantic endlessly punishes rural players.
Not happy at all with spoofing on the rise… Niantic had the perfect solution, and they nerfed it.
I don’t mind spoofers, so if someone spoofs and wants to trade me a regional or 2 that I don’t have lets do this. However, if you use just to dominate gyms that can be annoying for people that live there and want to play fair. Just don’t be a jerk about gym control and otherwise have fun.
So u want unlimited remote raids but u have an issue with someone doing unlimited raids by spoofing. Cut the bs.
Got no problems with spoofers, there welcome to take over my town anyday
I live 10 miles from the nearest gym and 17 miles from the nearest cluster.
I try using campfire and poke genie, even when I’m downtown but rarely get campfire response. Poke genie can help at times but popular raids in prime time I see over 500 raids ahead of mine making timing out a problem.
I’m not a fan of cheating and wouldn’t spoof but honestly, I’d welcome help by any means to get raids done and I jumped into a few raids that were clearly spoofed.
I don’t really mind spoofing except when it comes to taking over gyms…Spoofing is RAMPANT in my rural community…gyms are being taken over by a group of red team members who don’t live in or around my area since the remote raid pass change.
I was contemplating spoofing for a long time, and after the raid pass nerf, I finally decided to do it. I used to hate spoofers but… it really is fun to spoof. Being a rural player, spoofing is the only way I enjoy the game, and it allows me to do raids that I would never have been able to do or catch special pokemon that I would never have been able to find.
Spoofing has helped everyone, to be honest. Spoofers are some of the most common accounts that fight raid battles. When I was in Singapore, which is one of the biggest PoGo hubs, I used to regularly see 20 people in the lobby but only 8-10 people at the gym. All those legendaries I caught with the second last/last ball (including a Hundo Latias) were because of extra balls thanks to the spoofers in the lobby. I’m sure this goes for most of us.
Spoofers want to play for themselves. It’s a grey area, but I don’t see a massive issue with it. If they submit their screenshots for the record books, that’s obviously cheating. But I doubt they do that.
If Niantic wants to force people to play a certain way while ignoring players who play within the rules, purely because it is more profitable for the company, then they deserve every cheater, spoofer, hacker, and data miner working against them as possible. Honestly the worst element of ftp or service based games is the idea that players never really own any part of it. Without people finding ways to break the system, it would definitely squeeze everyone for money and data even more.
i cant do raids anymore bc of the remote raid nerfs so i hope ppl go back to spoofing since its impossible to win a 5 star raid by myself. they need to make raid difficulty easier imo like to favor only people who live it big cities is stupid and this game is going to die.
Spoofing was inevitable as soon as they had region locked Pokemon.
I can’t afford to go overseas for the sake of a Pokemon.
I have a second account that I spoof from, then trade to whoever wants the Pokemon.
I’ve done it to help catch legendarys after the nerf too.
I was quite happy spending a bit of money here and there for remote raids, but I’ll just spoof a free daily instead now.
I think Niantic has to think about the players and how they want to play and worry less about how they want the game.. I’ve never played a game with soooo much controversy and blindness towards its players. I don’t and won’t spoof but I COMPLETELY understand those who do.. it’s a video game ffs, don’t take it so serious lol it’s all digital anyway
i did spoof for first time ever during shadow mewtwo raids, getting local players in my area is near impossible and locking like that literally the strongest pokemon in the game with his shiny version is a dick move and i dont feel bad in any way, will probably be forced to do the same in future shadow raids, gladly i dont really spin any pokestops or catch regionals etc while spoofing because that does feel unfair, just raid and uninstall
i dont blame them to be honest
The worst part of the remote raid nerf was the price increase. At least for me it killed it, before I used to do up to 9 raids of the same boss because I didn’t want to spend that much for a game. If they kept the raid limit with old price I believe that should help something at least. Imagine living on a small country that doesn’t have that many players or a community at all. I have missed a lot of key raid bosses because of that. Spoofing would have given me access to other locations and player that are willing to help to defeat the boss even if it is because of grid.
Spoofers are the fakest players- everything that’s special about you came out of an app. Not every game is made for everyone, and if you can’t play without spoofing find a different game
I think the argument that Niantic buffing inperson rewards significantly would have had a measurable move to inperson gameplay just isn’t a valid one. Most people aren’t raiding because of rewards, they want the legendary, the shiny and the hundo. I would never have done a 5 star raid if it weren’t for remote raids and will likely never do an inperson raid regardless of the rewards.
Tried spoofing and nothing was on the map.
Im not surprised spoofing has gone up. It’s bound to happen with what has been happening lately. I personally know a few of them and I’m happy i do since it helps for completing my dex
