It’s hard for some players to play only locally, not enough players or have time to go around locally. It also takes quite a bit of gas to go to each local raid where you can find people. Campfire was a nice addition but not enough

The only negative outlook I have on spoofing is when they multiple accounts and take up the entire gym at my local park. Other than that, I think most of them affect the game in a positive way. Most of the elite raids I was the only person physically at the location, I wouldn’t have been successful if not for the 5 to 6 spoofers.

Ill be honest, I dont blame them. Many of the newer spoofers are those who have basically been shut out by Niantic thanks to their insistence on “go out or dont play”

Not a spoofer, but I am not surprised. I don’t know what Niantic was thinking when they nerfed the remote raids. I wonder if the topic of spoofers even came up at their meeting?

I’ve been disabled for 3 years now and not left the house for just over 2 of those years.
After the remote nerf, I started spoofing and it’s been brilliant.
I know the risks, if I’m banned, I will start again.

However. I stick to my local community area. Never spoof for regionals or events etc, I’m apart of groups and am welcomed, even receive messages asking if I’m around to help with raids.

My life due to disability SUCKS. Pogo creates a great escape and passing of the time for me, if that upsets some suits at Niantic, I don’t care, live like me for 1 month and experience what I do and then they would make spoofing part of the game permanently.

Also another problem is the wayfarer program , people on there are refusing most new stuff so its almost impossible to grow your community , i grinded to lvl 37 so i could nominate stops and everything ive submitted has been rejected . this is pretty depressing sometimes it feels like community against community xD

I’m not a spoofer but part of the problem is that theres not really good options in rural areas either to do raids or lack of resources. You need to be lv 37 to nominate a pokestop. While not a bad lv, if u live in a rual area, it could be a nightmare & you’ll have to spend more resources just to get there. I was thinking maybe if the surrounding higher lv players (if they can) could visit the rural area in their counties to nominate pokestops there. That way areas like that would have a better chance & less spoofing would happen. I wouldn’t be much, but its better than doing nothing. Who knows, maybe some of the players who use to play there might return due to better conditions.

As a New Yorker I literally never see people raiding in person. It’s 99 percent spoofers. I’m not even complaining because without the spoofers I wouldn’t be able to solo Raid. The only pain in the ass is that it’s impossible to keep gyms.

I did spoof for a day to get a hundo charmander and a hundo Beldum… I just couldn’t resist.

pokkemon helped me during convid when we where wall stuck in door and things where getting back open again it helped with being outisde again and i like the aspect of the game, and just of your own mental health as well going outside.
but recenly when convid and raid pass nerf, spoofing is spoiles the game for me, espically them taking over gyms. I don’t care if they spoof and besides Niantic can’t stop them. All I would say is if you spoof don’t be an ass over Gyms. That player might really need it and you can go anywhere so let them have it. you can spoof just please dont take gym, bad for the local people who go there and play normaly, bad for people with health health and it not very nice, and other games for that if you want to fight it out, there like call of duty or fornite, and there even pokemon go pvp and there no need to spoof catch pokemon and taking other gyms while spoofing.

Good stuff as always Count J. The way I look at it is modding games has been around since the dawn of gaming and this is not any different. Niantic should just have approved ones like other companies that work with game modders do. That way they have some way of keep things in order.

Theres always been spoofers. Its just a lot more obvious when there’s in person only raids.. i don’t really care if people spoof to get some raids done or keep up their daily streaks, those things dont negatively sffect other players. Its just annoying when they block people out of gyms.

Remove the incentive to cheat and there will be less cheaters. Enough said. Banning them doesn’t fix the glaring problem.

I am cool with spoofers unless they use their advantage to dominate gyms. I don’t PVP and I don’t care who has all the shinies and 100% pokes. That does not impact my game play. I just want to get my coins each day. I live in a more rural area so spoofers usually are not a problem and I just got my own house gym yesterday, so I can kick spoofers out ASAP if need be as I work from home and can monitor it. I think if people want to risk their accounts and spoof, go for it. I see the reasoning behind a lot of it.
