I have 2 gyms nearby nobody ever raids there not even on raid day taking away remote raid opportunities isn’t going to change that

What about remote raid passes being gifted by Niantic after a certain number of in-person raids? Like every 20 raids, get a remote pass free.

Never spoofed before but maybe it’s time to start? Or just retire. Getting in your car and driving around just to do a couple raids is so 2019 and takes way too much time. Getting a blizzard here currently and it’s not safe to go out.

how about niantic use their time to ban 3rd party apps instead of punishing legitimate players, this update will just encourage spoofing

Love the videos! My only problem with what they will be doing is I am well aware people like Brandon travel the world to high populated places where there is 100-1000s of players where they are. Myself living in Delaware where there is only 5-20 people that play it would be near impossible to constantly have enough to complete raids let alone completing a difficult raid like Mega Latios.

If they want people to meet in person again, this is not the way to do it lol. Removing remote raids is going to piss off both sides. I’m not in a rural area but spots with a lot of stops and gyms are very uncommon, and even when PoGo was super popular, it was hard to find people to raid. Not everyone lives in a densely populated area. I started the game BECAUSE of remote raids, because I would never had played the game if I had to be out for raids, and Niantic would not have had any of my money – which is what they want most of all, don’t forget.

If this nerf happens, I’m naming all my buddies I’m working on as #hearusniantic to let all my pogo raider friends on other continents know that I’m completely shunning remote raids until Nerfantic put things back the way they were.

POGO is a game that incorporates worst aspects of mobile gaming. Using a ton of limiters that force people back into the app on daily basis. Except Niantic wants to incorporate this in real world. To make any substantial progress you basically have to dedicate your life to the game like a job. I frankly do not need a game to be my job, especially when I am expected to pay for the privilege of working for it.

I play in bursts and on multiple accounts. I will not dedicate chunk of my life on daily basis to any game. Even if I don’t do 6 (or whatever amount) remote raids every day, I do not wish to be told that if I need few more xls, I have to stop remote raiding and have to go find a raid in the wild and hope other people show up. Also, what about friends? What if they are hitting the cap. Frankly, as much as I like Pokemon IP, the hassle of dealing with Niantic is not worth it. It’s not like POGO is a perfect game.

I think a better compromise would be until you use your daily raid pass or passes like we had a few seasons ago you are limited to whatever remote raid limit they set. Once you achieve that it should then make remotes open as much as you want. They are not incentivizing people to play more locally its just going to make local raids harder all they are doing is turning on their fan base.

I’m sorry but the positives of remote raiding SEVERELY outweigh the negatives. Your talking about an objective positive for MILLIONS of people vs an emotional negative for less than 1% of those millions of people. Even before remote raids everyone raided from inside their vehicles especially in western countries!

yeah true when im home and see a raid like close by i remote it but if this uptade comes i will proboly g oout and get it and then use my remote pass do to raids around the worlds insted so i dont see a problem with this uptade

What about the people like us from rural area ? I literally have 2 gyms in my town and 6 players at the most to play Pokemon go

If Niantic truly wants to incentivize people to come out to local raid more often, it can just lower the cost of premium passes like they did with the recent 750 coin package for 10 premium passes. Or they can simply cut the cost to 75 coins for a premium pass. They can even justify that with raising the remote pass to 125 to balance it out. I agree that it’s always a better experience to local raid. The game should promote it instead of taking the priviliage away from remote raids.

Niantic should remove the remote passes or leave them as they was during the pandemic.

Pikmin Bloom has the limit of 3 free local challenges / day then you need to buy passes to do more. No remote.

I don’t want to talk to people right now. My Pokemon community used to be big on going out and raiding together each day. Covid hit and I stopped playing. A lot of people stopped, but most of us still play, but it’s based around chat groups and remote raiding together. I am not in the chat groups as I used to spend so much time driving around looking for raids or chasing Pokemon using maps and I want to take it lighter than before. It was fun to interact with the group but it also wasted a lot of gas and time.

Remote raiding is great because it allows me to get raid shinies without having to go out for hours at a time hoping to find legendary raids and pray for the shiny. Even then, I did over 70 Verizion raids remotely and never got the shiny. I can’t imagine having to go out everyday driving around looking for 70 Verizion raids. That would be insane. I’m not gonna mention the 100+ for a Drudgigon shiny. (I wanted to transfer it after)

The game has changed for many of us and we don’t want to go back to hours and hours of driving around. Only people who live in the heart of big cities can walk around and hit gyms and pokestops stacked on top of each other. I would rather get my exercise on my own time, which I may or may not lol.

If I can only do 6 remote raids a day that is all I will do besides the local raids nearby, but I will still be driving to them and not walking. I will not be meeting up with others to do them either. Pokie Genie or Facebook ppl are great for that.

I understand the change but I still think it will hurt us more than help us. If the change does occur then start creating gyms and pokestops as much as possible in your area, that way you can get raids nearby, but if remote raids are limited it will still hurt. This isn’t good for Pokemon Go.
