I used to raid with a small community after work. But during the pandemic work moved to home so I’m not around that area anymore. So while remote raids changed things my circumstances also changed, I’m now not somewhere where there is a community to raid with.
One thing I find is that mega raids are difficult while I kind of like that once you have enough mega energy you don’t really need more because you can gain it from your already mega evolved Pokémon, it means that if you don’t have enough it can be difficult to do a raid because nobody wants to do it with you when they already have enough. So I’ve resorted to using temporary friend matching services for mega raids because I just can’t find people around me that want to do it. Though part of the reason may be that people around me also use these services so they are as much part of the problem as a solution.
I’m ok with the 6 remote raids a day as the game is about going out and play the games
but the increase to 150 pokecoins nah man that shit sucks A LOT
Bro they are destroying their own game.
As a person with no transportation besides walking and living in a cold climate and people too sprawled out for reliable raids already, this is disappointing. They will lose many players and income due to this. Niantic needs to focus on the real issues and not destroying the community by forcing us to physically go to these raids.
My “local” community is mostly active in okc which is 2 and 1/2 hours away from where I live. Because of this I wasn’t able to get legendaries and megas except once in a while when I could afford the trip and the fomo made me just stop playing.
If they want to drive up people leaving their houses and building communities then they shouldn’t of nerfed the global tour rates. All these changes are doing is hurting isolated players
My community was on life support before the pandemic and remote raiding. Remote raiding actually revived it somewhat, as my small community was able to meet and still use our remote raiders to help us with the harder raids. This move ends the community here, as the next closest bigger community is 50 miles away. With cost of living skyrocketing and price of fuel increases..Pogo will be gone here.
Most people who have been playing the game since the start don’t have time to run around doing local raids due to work and family commitments. We’ve grown older but still would like to play this game casually without having it to interfere with real life obligations. Remote raids made things much more accessible. They take this feature away a huge sector of player base will move on.
I mean I can’t even host raids cause of a 3+ delay I try to go into gym just doesn’t work
They could make the raid limit player level based, if you are level 25 you can do 25 remote raids a day
Niantic said themselves in 2020, the raid passes will come in a bundle at a decreased price.
And now they increase price for people to be encouraged to go out and raid in person, just as Niantic said.
Day 1 of saying, that Brandon should do some streams on yt. I mean by that that Brandon should do as challenges while streaming. For example doing 20 raids while streaming.
I will quit if they go through with this. Remote raids are objectively fine, I have many international friends dotted around and also from other gaming communities, etc, and it’s a good way to raid for regionals, etc. If they want to put more emphasis on local, add more incentives, raise the bottom line rather than punch down. More xp, candy, or better chances. The only people who can still stomach this are content creators and whales, and they won’t steady the ship as many other players quit.
If one of the reason that they are doing this is to stop those people spoofing to use the regular raid pass, i don’t think its fair for people like my self who really buy and use remote raid passes, and if they are really concerned about that, don’t you think that niantic should be the one who should figure something out how to prevent the spoofers and not prevent the players who really pay and use the remote raid passes, i feel like we are being punished for their bad doings.
i also get all the community interaction and stuff but if they didn’t want us to be remote raiding then why introduce it in the first place its like teaching a baby how to drink milk then after a while you tell them that they shouldn’t be drinking it anymore because its bad for them and the community lol! Just saying..
End of the day they still do whatever they wanna do anyways..
Why you gotta ride niantic this hard. And defending Saturday so much too. Gross
as much as i agree with what you’re saying about remote raiding separating communities the fact of the matter is that the damage is done. niantic hurting remote raiding won’t bring back in person communities. the reason people came together for raids initially is because it was a new feature. the ability to get these strong and/or rare pokemon was exciting, and sharing it with others made it even better. but between the pandemic and the obstacles that remote raiding removes, too many people who have shifted to remote raiding would not return to in person raiding, at least not on any regular basis.
personally, i moved to an area without an active in person community over a year ago, and have become dependent on using remote raid hosting apps to actually be able to win the bigger raids. there are definitely others in the same position as me. if the drop off of remote raiders is big enough, people like me would have to use our own remote passes to actually do extra raids that we would’ve otherwise used premium passes to do.
further incentivising in person raiding is the only right way to go about it. one more reason to go outside gets people outside, while one less reason to play from home gets people to do other stuff from home. and if that one exploit is the reason why niantic wouldn’t buff in person raid rewards they could change it so what rewards are received are based on proximity to the gym rather than what kind of pass you used
I just don’t get why they wanna limit/remove remote raids, yet, they just recently added the need to add players across the world for Vivillon 😒
He’s paid by Niantic to still defend them 😂
Rich dude living off money he didn’t earn tells other people that paying more for the same thing isn’t bad.
So when pogo was a new game there were no remote raids the entire point was in person. That being said, ninantic is making $$$$$ with those remote raids…I’m surprised they want to Iimit daily distance passes as they’ll make less $
Maybe I’ll learn to spoof if that’s the only method I have to get to raids. Oh well.
