Honestly brandon, i was disappointed to see you not rally against the incense change and i kinda feel like this is a bit in defense of niantic or atleast not holding them accountable. The reason in which they don’t care about their players is because they don’t care about the revenue, they care more about their AR tech. We knew this years ago when they released a post stating that they were focusing on the tech. My opinion is only a drop in the ocean and i don’t expect it to be read but feedback is feedback.
You’re a fraud, and a hypocrite
I’m okay with this change. Remote raiding ruined get togethers and whale players would easily farm XLs from their bed. Getting raid trains going with others back in the day was so fun, but now it devolved into “throw me an invite”. It was obvious niantic didn’t want to implement this change in the first place, but it was a must to get through the pandemic.
Starts video – annoyance at Niantic
Mid video – starts realising Pokémon go content pays the bills
End of video – “Niantic are right to do this, all hail Niantic”
Edit:
My frustration at Brandon – some of us have jobs that aren’t based on the actual game itself. It is all well and good saying “have more free time” but doesn’t work. Sorry but you are acting like a Niantic puppet
I can see where you’re coming from and I understand it. But for me who works full-time in shifts it’s simply impossible to always go out and join the raid when most people can, so in the afternoon or evening. I often play during weekdays in the morning in one of the largest communities of PoGo in Germany. Guess how many people I see during those times joining me? Rarely there is one. Using remote passes allows me to raid with others (usually over PokeRaid) as well as hosting it over PokeGenie for others.
Another thing to consider is that not everybody plays PoGo for the community – which should be okay too.
It’s hard to go out at time @brandontan91 when you work 10 hours a day that’s why i love the remote raid system
Maybe there is a happy medium. Maybe a higher limit, but raising the price is a huge mistake.
I’m not gonna hold you, most people don’t care about meeting up and just want to raid. People should join their local discord and organize a meet up if that’s what they choose to do. Remote raiding is convenient for people who have busy lives and can’t just stop what they’re doing to meet up and raid.
So, they are excluding disabled players, rural players, people without transportation (so some adults and a lot of younger kids), college kids who may be away from their home, people on vacation, people with social anxiety, people who live in extreme conditions (weather, dangerous), and people who work/have kids or other reasons that they can’t go out and meet people to raid all day.
That is a large percentage of people. Instead of doing this, they should be implementing a remote raid service so they match people to remote raid instead of third party websites doing it. I play in person, but I can’t do raids that are over 3 star because Im alone.
Additionally, Brandon, most of us aren’t going to connect with other people….we’ll just leave the game. There is no local community for me (maybe less than 10 regular players). They have lives, jobs, etc. I play in person, but I can’t raid in person because I don’t have anyone to raid with. I am working at 6pm during raid hour and on the weekend during comm days, etc. A lot of people are
#hearusniantic
Like with incense, this is gonna impact players that have a disability/health condition, are rural or do not have a big community the most. It’s like they are pushing us out of the game.
I’ve been playing since 2016 and these bonuses, made the game more accessible. I couldn’t do level fives before consistently until remotes, due to being in one of the categories list above. It’s like they are taxing these groups by making us pay more.
I think that community leaders don’t always speak for these groups. So your information may be bias.
If they do this I’m not playing anymore period. Lvl 50 legend valor here.
In the current day you’re never gonna get the numbers of people out to raids that we could before the pandemic, having 6 a day would mean you couldn’t get primal kyogre groudon as that needs more than 6 raids to get both, and you can’t get enough in person to do that even in London, as a player who’s played since 2016 and have over 600m xp, I’ve seen the change
If raid day hours were longer I 100% would do in person but I just can’t get out from 2-5. As it is I usually have to play community day with my go plus. If they want people going in person they need to make things longer or same hours but a choose your day thing where you can pick Saturday or Sunday.
A lot of people don’t have friends or have friends that work a lot and have kids so they don’t have time to go out to raid so that made remote raiding ideal, if people need a game to meet up in real life with friends that’s their problem.
Remote raiding was a mistake, but it was necessary for the time it came out. I do feel bad for the people who need to remote raid for personal reasons, but for those of us with cars legs bikes public transportation, we don’t have any excuse.
i live in a city with a total of like 5 gyms, and to reach them i have to walk for around 20 minutes, so remote raids play a big role in my pogo grind
Man you have lost your way. You need to stop and think for one minute how the way YOU play the game is completely different than 99.9% of the way the rest of us do. Stop trying to rationalize Niantics terrible decisions.
im a remote raid player, and tbh it help me play since i live in a rural area, its 50 mins drive and i work 13 hrs a day, it will be unfair for me if they phase out remote play and miss out again on raids , and i just came back 2 months ago since 2016….
Oh boy, if Niantic were to be a baseball batter in the last half of the 9th inning, 2 outs in, with enough people on bases, to win the game, this would be their 3 strikes:
In less than one week time, Niantic has known to irritate/anger a growing group of players by:
1. Again fumbling the ball during a big live and ticketed event, even if they kind of tried to remedy the situation on Saturday
2. Have thoughts on capping raids done per day with remote raid passes
3. And altogether, also raising the remote raid pass price, which I’m now hearing for the first time.
If Niantic does go further with these last two points together, they will be striking out on MANY players. This is really going to hurt the game allot.
