I can understand where Brandon is coming from. At it’s core Pokémon Go is about going out to play and to meet people, but I think we have come a long way in 7 years and the game has changed. Reducing the number of remote raids per day is not going to affect me at all, but I can see how it would be devastating to many players. To those players, hang in there this may not happen, and if it does, there is strength in numbers, we will have it overturned!

Remote raids helps me stay in the game and in the community. Living in a remote area i’d quit playing if they implement limit and increase price… Having to resort to remote raiding is already a handicap on poke-coins compared to in person raids. Can’t buy cosmetics, can’t buy incubators or packs. If this goes on i think most of the players like me would simply accept to be “left behind” and quit in no time.

leave remote raid passes as they are, buff in person raid rewards instead! this is just another punch to the face for rural/disabled players….

I don’t care if they limit as I don’t have money to buy more than 5 anyways but thing is that increase in price is only problem for all simple players..
I mean like anyway it takes 2 days to get one remote pass already and we are in rural area so now it takes 3 days to get a chance to shiny check a single mewtwo if this comes live…..
So niantic totally killing remote raid.

If they limit it then they should make sure that any gym in person is available to raided without a pass maybe that’ll make people be actually at the gym !

it’s complete B.S. to imagine pokemon go would be better to limit remote raids I don’t want to have to ask people to do raids with me for many reasons depending on situation.
I have friends all around the world I want to raid with thats so much more important to interact with those who aren’t so near to us that’s what makes raiding so fun it’s make believe to think that the average pokemon go player can just rally up a group of friends and run out and do raids we all have jobs typically being 9-5 many of us have responsibilities in all types of ways it was so nice to be able to do a raid when i got home from work ,even thoe the cost for a raid pass honestly is ridiculous i know atleast 50 people online including me that has bought 1000s of remote raid passes they make millions of dollars off the passes if they raised the price even more that would make the game basically pay to win . Niantic needs to get some people in there that care about what the players actually want or atleast stick to basic common sense so many things keep happening that just turns players off hurts my feelings because I truly love Pokémon

I hope this will get it back towards raiding in person with my local group. Since remote raiding the community comes together much less. Whilst it will certainly make it more difficult as we will have to be more organised, I’m good with this change. Raid hour will become more important.

This is speculation, but I have heard the reason is not Niantic, rather The Pokémon Company that feel Pokemon Go is drawing attention from the main games, and want to limit play time in Pokemon Go so people turn to the other games.

If niantic wants people to do more in person raid. First lower the coin cost of a premium raid pass. To 50 or 25. Or implement a system. Where if you do 3 remote raid passes you have to do 1 in person raid pass to do 3 more remote raid passes. Limiting the usage of remote raid is a bad idea

I absolutely love remote raids. I also feel it saved the game but I also believe it began dictating the game. I honestly thought at some point they would completely get rid of the remote raid passes so the fact that they are only limiting passes isn’t that bad. Maybe they can have events and special researches to allow more passes a day but I think this will revamp the game and give a refresh

Realistically, a lot of players play solo and don’t wanna meet up other players (which are mostly kids, and I’m adult). And most local raids are never filled with players. It’s no Singapore here for example, not so many gyms and players in those local raids. Only 6 remote per day brings at least still the opportunity to get the legendary Pokemons. But I do 10 to 20+ a day, for the candy XL and increase the chance getting shundo. I cannot reach this anymore if this update is getting applied.
