not using your remote passes unless you’re desperate does not make you any better than people who decide to use them
I remote raid because I don’t have enough friends to take on strong raids.
I can be downtown 10 raids going on and tap on all of them, no one in them and I look around and don’t see anyone on there phone.
I come from a small town and wasn’t able to fill up my pokidex cause all of these legendary or mythical raids just kick my butt and I stop playing. When pandemic hit I started playing again and when the remote raids hit I was happy cause I’ll be able to take on these big raids. I’m in a bigger town but same problem I don’t see anyone joining raids or anyone around me looking like there playing.
I get it’s a group game and meet people but I’ve never really met a group of people going around raiding I’ve also been alone and solo but these remote raids made the game fun again for me cause I’m able to catch pokemon I thought I’d never get…..
Yes this is confusing. I can understand this move if the reason is to encourage more in-person meet ups and foster more community interaction. To limit daily number of remote raids though and lower the price of purchasing 3 remote raid passes (if that is the case) does not make financial sense. Perhaps they can just give more incentive to in-person raids. Personally, I don’t really do that many daily raids but do go over 6 remote raids if the 5 star raids have pokemons that I want to catch like Rayquaza.
You’ve made really good points. I just wish that they would do a good job of a happy medium. I’m glad they’ve made more efforts for helping build community. I live in a rural area that has a snowy winter season. It can be two strikes against me in terms of playing. I also don’t have local friends that enjoy raiding the same way I do. I’d love to have more community to interact with and more places to do it. I’m just trying to find how I get there. In the meantime, I also have a great community on Discord that I interact with a lot and I would be sad to see that die off because it’s been more of what the local community is supposed to be for me.
I completely disagree for a number of reasons. My friend who is disabled will no longer be able to raid with us nearly as frequently if this happens. Also, as a woman, I have been followed a few times. I would rather keep the remote passes. There are NO gyms in my area within a 30 minute walk. I’d rather not waste extra money on gas for players in my town who refuse to use the right counters. I have done in person raids with them and failed because they refuse to *not* use the recommended. I’m not about to keep after people when they can easily Google what’s good to use. Yeah, it was fun playing in person, but I work a lot. As if I have time to be driving here and there to join raids that I *might* win and *might* catch the legendary. Not to mention the XL drop rate for in person raids is so small…1-2 XL every few raids…? I swear they’re so obsessed with longevity. Longevity = longer profits to them. That’s what I’ve observed. They keep the game breaking glitches sometimes for years (dodge raid glitch 2017-2019), but remove the helpful ones immediately. If this happens I am done with raiding and probably going to stop playing for some time again.
You probably won’t see this but this makes me upset not for the raid limit but for the price increase. If a pass will cost 150 we should be able to earn more coins each day this will let free to play player raid with there friends. Right now it takes 2 days to get a pass so you have a maximum of 3 a week cutting that down by 2 a week hurts a lot. If they expect for me to walk and find gyms to get coins so I can get passes they need increase the coins per day.
This will hurt more players rather than help. There are discord reddit threads and facebook groups of local groups who play. Thats how I found most of the people I raid with now. We remote raid with each other from all over the city and we meet for community days in person at a great spot so we have a great balance.
As a player in a relatively rural area this is horrible. Especially the increase in price. Why Niantic…
this is what a motivational speech should be like
I work full-time and I don’t have any friends who play in person, I’m not really interested in going to meet-ups, I’d rather just play on my own and do raids remotely. I guess Niantic is getting a lot of money off of selling data about people’s networks — so they want you to play in person so they can map out who you’re with and sell that data
if niantic says you can only do 6 remote raids a day, that’s fine, i don’t mind. if they get rid of remote raids i will probably stop playing
i don’t WANT to play with other people. i’m not interested in that aspect. i like catching pokemon and organizing them. i have zero interest in playing with other people
You’re coming at this with so much privilege and so little compassion for the people who it’s literally the difference of them playing, or not playing. If you want in person raids so badly. Organize it yourself. You shouldn’t be pedaling this garbage when it’s a detriment to the disabled, those with social anxiety, to people with kids, to people with an ordinary job(not able to get paid to play pokemon), to people who live in extremely remote and rural locations.
It’s obvious you don’t have any kids or other responsibilities than Pokémon. Because in the real world. You can’t just ditch your family or leave work to go chase down a raid boss.
If they take away or limit remote raids, I will stop playing and I just came back in October 2022 after not playing the game since release. Remote raiding is what got me back into the game. Remove that or limit that, and I’m gone again.
People shouldn’t be limited so harshly when it comes to how much someone can do remote raiding in a day.
It’s easy for these YTbers to say all “Go outside and meet people, go raid with people.”
Not everyone has the time or money to go out and find people that would be willing to raid with you, especially when you are in a small area and cant go around to other places. It’s just so frustrating having people going around trying to justify 6 remote raids a day for others.
Limiting others with 6 remote raids is only putting a limit the people that can’t go outside due to it be health issues and those that can’t go far due to the location they are in.
It’s so easy for these Pokémon GO YTbers to talk about how ‘great’ it is to have this limit. seeing it doesn’t effect them much at all.
You do realize 99.9% of the players don’t play Pokemon Go as their full-time job, right?
This is such a huge disconnect from the community, honestly pretty disappointing.
Pathetic. Just sad. PoGo could be so great, if Niantic had any understanding of the gem they own, or had any love for Pokemon. People still won’t go out for raids – time, gas, scattered gyms. I will save some money. I am truly fearful Niantic will run PoGo into the ground. I wish another company (that loves gaming) would buy it from them.
I live in a remote area where there aren’t very many players. A friend got me to start playing when the pandemic started. Even when there is big events going on there is nobody playing in my area. So how am I supposed to talk to players in my area when they don’t exist. Remote rating is the only way I can even get enough people to get them done and by putting a limit on it means I have less of a chance to get in enough to do the raid. Even when I’ve gone to a big city in my area I did not find anybody doing raids it is good to the point in my area that nobody wants to play anymore. Because of Niantic fixing stuff that’s does not need to be fixed.
Bruhhh this game is dead like in my sity you have 10 players💀💀💀. For me its inposible to play local, and also i have only 1 friend who play pokemon go and he live 5km from me. Like if we even get together to play we can only defeat 3 star raids.
The issue is your worried about community’s while not thinking of all the people that never had a community to play with in the first place lol boo hoo you don’t have 40 people to play with smh some people don’t have 1 person to play with and remote raids made them feel included. There is no going back don’t you guys get it? The people that held those communities together are long gone they didn’t just switch to remote raiding the quit the whole game. This is bad very bad and I see it lasting maybe 2 or 3 months before they bring it back. Too much money lost
I’m closing in on 1 billion xp I’m f2p and have never used coins on remotes 😏
