Backing track yes that’s the difference between real jazz and smooth jazz hard bop musicians like Lee Morgan and Joe Henderson Kenny Durham there sidemen Anticipate each other not bad for a smooth jazz though.

Radio bumper music and elevator and lobby and retail store music killed jazz for me.
I hear it and my mind wanders as if I’m either I’m driving, riding, or waiting. And it’s not a pleasant wander, it’s an impatient one that has me thinking what I need to get done next, and wondering how much longer must I wait or are we there yet… if riding along or sitting, should I dose off and take nap?
I seriously can’t focus on the music that much. And probably why most jazz music sound the same to me.
Sucks, because lots of rock and pop use jazz motifs.

I get it; many are infatuated with Miss Dulfer, but Jazz Saxophonists are worlds apart from Pop Saxophonists. Case in point, Justin Robinson’s solo on this song vs. Miss Dulfer here. I take nothing from her, but people, don’t be mistaken…this was an ok improv; nothing to write about. The flugelhorn player THOUGH! 🎺🌋🌋🌋
