Thanks. I am getting a little better with the building aspect, which I know will improve when more updates are released over time. I never thought of using the rope bridge for a roof. In fact, I haven’t used them at all yet. I did use them in the Forest, and they made amazing catwalks around your base defensive wall in that game. I finally built a defensive wall in SOTF, which like your episode on them, took a lot of logs and time. About 30 seconds after I sharpened the last post, about 10 enemies showed up and two red brutes quickly tore down a large section of the defensive wall. So now I guess I have to do the whole spike thingy with 3 rocks per spike again.
Yo Farket, think you can do a video about 1.5 high rooms/ceilings? 1.75? 2? I cant get them to work without nasty looking pieces hanging into the room. Also, is that a bug, or by design? I think the building system is somehow taking into account the “root object” so when you take up that piece and put it back you arent circumventing a bug, but changing the anchor point to an acceptable location…. Could be wrong, but just my guess.
i love u farket
Keep your quarter logs for firewood. Helps them last longer
Merci à toi 😉
Wouldn’t worry about the snow or rain beleading through the building.
If you build anything large like a mansion, castle, compound, or whatever large building, the weather bleeds through anyway.
Seems like it’s to do with the draw distance, it happens on one-story buildings if they’re too long, happens on three and four-story buildings, and even happens on every floor of an 18-story castle I’m working on. They’re all buttoned up tight and I can’t even stay dry inside.
The real kicker is when you put about eight or more bone chandeliers in a single structure, it pixelates everything. The structure, shelves, items, players, AI, inventory, everything. I’ve got 10 on the first floor and it pixelates everything on the first six floors.
A easier way to place pillars on sloped connections (that are/will be roof or stairs) is to just add 1 plank to the roof/stair and you should be able to place a pillar at the bottom of the sloped log, then remove the plank if necessary
I can’t even play this game but I Watch this video because I love all of your videos
Thank you so much! I would’ve never figured out this myself! Keep up the good work ❤
Farket should make a Pizza Hut
love all of the vids but i miss your gameplay videos already🥲hurry with these tutorials
Well it’s called a Hip Roof for the four corner angles during the winter snow an rain fall for homes over here that is mainly single-story run off without gutters. 👍
while I dont care for fo76– its kinda funny to me that this game and that one have a golf course that makes a fantastic building location
Wide hips ahead
I think the extra logs look good, kinda frames in the roof a bit
Loving those cool house designs at the end! :DDDD
Farket, been watching you for about 5 years and please stay motivated with the content. ITS SO FUCKING GOOD. Let’s get some content of you fighting mobs etc bcos it’s so entertaining
I will make it, and they will come:)
Great video. I love the game, but really, really wish some of the basic log structural mechanics were more intuitive so we didn’t have to resort to weird work arounds like this. There’s nothing worse than spending hours building your house idea only to discover that you can’t place your logs where you wanted for no logical reason. It’s very frustrating.
to gt the logs in the little cross section to drop, I believe what you did was place a fourth log down to make it a box. then placed the two logs you wanted to be on the angle on top of the fourth log. then picked up that fourth log and the other logs on top of it fell down
