It feels like streamers and YTers for Tarkov don’t understand why ratting is so prevalent even though they literally state the causes literally every single time they talk about it. Most players are not chads that can afford to take losses in raid because they play only 1 to 2 times a week, have no time to level up their stats and traders, and just overall do not have the patience for PvP. The reason people rat overwhelmingly is out of necessity due to the economy changes over the years combined with their own circumstances, not because they enjoy it. This problem is entirely because of BSG’s incompetence with handling and balancing the game over the years, you combine that with the sweaty cheaters in literally *every* single lobby, well, you have the shitshow we have now in game. No one is really playing the game because most players stand to lose too much for such little effort on the part of other players and chads, so why even bother trying to loot and go for fights when you will get killed by a cheater 60% of the time or you have objectively inferior equipment to the unemployed chads who have nothing better to do?
Why not just use a green screen and CGI in your helmet, ez pz
it not about the loot it about the kill and making others suffer
dude you clearly just dont get it….
RATting itsnt about you having a great day playing tarkov, its about ruinning others day, the dopamine sits on knowing you send a random mf to the lobby to preset again a setup for like 10 mins
thats the reward
holy shit Dark and Darker reference😳
I lay into bushes and go watch YouTube or Twich. No problemo. And then go do quests or loot or whatever. So definetely NOT BORING
L leviticus no bad ratting
I just tried it on my 7 year old PC. I have a ryzen 5 and a 1070 on 16g ddr4 and with this video playing and tarkov at 1440P I maxed at 14g ram usage. your PC SUCKS!!!!
The problem with “Okay, I’ll just hop into the next one” is that we don’t all have a billion roubles to spend on guns.
If I’m ratting that hard, A I’m desperate beyond belief, and B, I don’t listen to music or videos, I read, I got books I need to read and get figured out
Destroy all the rats
Love the bo3 Minecraft zombie tower gameplay. Certified classic map right there
Tarkov isn’t slow, or tactical. It isn’t this enlightened FPS experience that we partake in like milsims and what not. It’s also not fast and high-paced, it’s not COD or Battlefield.
Tarkov is a business, and the only way to do business is to make sure the money keeps flowing in with the lowest risk possible. Bored? Go play fucking COD. Over here, it doesn’t fucking matter how many uber chads you killed, or how many high-tier Scavs you offed. You are not the hero of this story, you’re not Soap or Ghost, you goofy motherfucker. The hero of this story is the guy who’s been sitting patiently for 35 minutes, waiting. Waiting for your goofy ass to come through, marching in, with I don’t know how many PMC or Scav boss kills. It doesn’t matter to him, and in a few seconds it won’t matter at all. The only thing that matters to him is how many Roubles’s worth of gear you’re carrying. It doesn’t go further, deeper or beyond that. Don’t whine, it’s business not personal.
Go now, go load up your next raid, put on your ultra high-tier uber chad gear, and go in cause you can’t end on a loss. Go, go kill some chads and Scav bosses, loot them up good. And just when you feel that you’re safe, there I am, ready to do business.
I need a game like tarkov but it has a pve section similar to ghost recon, the stash and customization of everything would fit perfectly in a pve game
Is the game still worth playing ?
It’s been 7 months since I’ve played seriously, I have over 2000 hours
Tactical ratting pretty much sums up what I do for 4 whole wipes. Never successful enough to be covered in meta gear, so most of the time I am sneaking around clutching hard on my 74/ump/akm, running around as if there’s someone watching me all the time. Going slow and listen had won me plenty of fights, a few in resort even. If things go south and I didn’t get head eyes right way, at least my stealth would give me enough time to gauge the situation and hide or run away.
I think that the increase of the ratting during this wipe was due to the general situation that the game is currently facing.
I don’t know about you guys but this wipe was terrible on the netcode and cheater problems, add that to the fact that the death is punishing as fuck, it becomes more understandable why more people started to play in a Rat way.
It’s logical to find a low risk high reward solution when you’re put in a high risk environment, everybody would do this in a real world scenario, that’s why the ambush is so effective to this day. But the thing is: playing like this(loot gobling it while full kit near the extract) is boring as fuck. I mean, it’s a game, punishing and time consuming, but it’s a game and should be played as such. Go out and start to face opponents, you can do some ambushes here and then but, I mean, sitting in a corner of the extract for 40 minutes straight, come on, that’s sad.
That’s it, I understand the point of ratting but I don’t really see the point of making it the 100% of your playstile, more realistic than jumping around with 40 kg of gear on yourself, but sad as fuck.
On the other side, carefully making decisions, sneaking on enemies with a slow place and switching to killer mode when the fight starts is much more enjoyable as a playstile.
The only time it is a good feeling to kill someone while camping is when you actually calculated what they are going to do next. Once i killed a dude in the office area between goshan and oli, but he had a teammate. Instead of fighting him face-to-face where i would’ve had a chance of dying i ran upstairs to the techlight escalator, went down and got behind him and camped the doors which would’ve lead to that office area. My plan was that he will eventually try to drop his mate’s stuff if he didnt hear me anymore, and the best place for that is the little janitor room next to the doors. Guess what, he did just that, so i just had to shot him in the back of his head, while i was sitting in the corner next to the door he came out.
I think in such a situation it is justified as you use your map knowledge and situation awereness to outsmart your enemy, who already knew he was in a combat situation.
This is actually one of the reasons i dont like to drop my mate’s stuff, and i also dont want them to care about my gear.
Ok the last 5 minutes were pretty reasonable
the bad ratting youre talking about is camping and the “good ratting” is just playing (and third partying) carefully, not ratting. ratting is a more general term refers to a playing style, almost like the opposite of what a chad does, not seeking engagements and with the focus on either looting for money or getting quests done. Yes a lot of ratting revolves around bushes and/or sneaking, but it is really the intentions that distinguish a rat and a camper.
