This game looks like it runs so much more smoothly than DF. Like, the sprites don’t just “flicker” to the next tile, but actually move there. And there’s animations!!

This game gets actual z-levels (and not the fake z-levels of DF), and it will torpedo the competition.

Nice video! A lot of easy fixed misstakes: 1. don’t auto-expand but expand when you have surplus of food. 2. Harvest wild edibles every autum. 3. Keep an eye on workload and don’t auto-employ (that mechanism doesn’t work well at the moment). 4. When you have surplus of food, give them more food rations (that incease happiness A LOT). 5. Start selling wood right from the start and import what you miss (food, furniture, clay) that way you can build faster. 6. Keep an eye on density percentage on mines (works like fertility). Your clay mine had very low density and will be very inefficient. 7. When buying and selling, keep an eye on prices. Buy cheap food (often bread) and sell things you have that have high prices. With more time playing one learns what good prices are. But it also depends on your closeness to the sea so it’s complex. 8. At the beginning give max access to wood for housing. It’s easy to get. Late game you can lower it as you might run low on wood supply. Don’t give second-grade products like furniture in the beginning as you need it for building stuff. 9. Buy clothes if you don’t want to make them yourself. They are often very cheap. 10. Upgrade to stone roads. 11. Add decorations (flower beds and trees at the beginning).

If you had followed these tips I think you easily would have reached 1.000 population in that time. I believe I reached 1.000 in one hour last week when I tried V63. Of course a lot of 4x speed then.

Always thought of this more like a Dwarf Fortress lite, lacks a lot of the depth and personality of DF but they did scale it up

Interesting, but has JRPG graphics (bad). I think they could invest into it. Yeah sure game might have plenty of other issues, but looking bad is one issue.

there are no elves in this game, or dwarves, just FYI, cretonians are pig people, Tilapi are little cannibal goblins, dondorian are *probably* the closest to elves as they are humanlike but much stronger, Cantor are giants and rare but you cant start as them, and theres two different bug people, but no elves or dwarves lol

also, highly recommend doing ethnostates until you get more experience, most species HATE each other and have vastly different wants and needs, multi ethnic cities are HARD
