I felt the same way. It’s a cool concept, but I returned it after an hour. I didn’t think it was worth the money-too mindless for me. Not enough challenge
I got this game for free on PSN but if i didn’t have that. I would have made this a curiosity buy, which i do from time to time. I say it is well worth the purchase. The game is short but for me do get 100% it was 12 hours, i think that is worth the price. The gameplay was straight forward, levels were interesting, story was neat, atmosphere was great & music was really damn good. I just hope in time that you don’t come back to make another video titled “I was wrong” not because changing your mind is bad thing but because it’s starting to look like a trend.
I think that games can be so subjective sometimes. Stray was worth it for me and I had a great time with it. The day before this game came out I had just finished my second playthrough of Elden Ring which almost clocked me at 400 hours of total playtime with both characters. The simplicity and easiness of Stray were a breath of fresh air after finishing Elden Ring. I also thought the design and art direction of the city and environments were rich and wonderful to look at. Plus, the game ran perfectly, I had absolutely no issues with bugs or frame drops, and the whole experience was seamless and delightful. Now I have to get back to Elden Ring.
OR, and hear me out, you can buy it because it’s an amazing game, a breath of fresh air in the sea of bloated, open world AAA crap, made by a small studio that could use your support.
I don’t know man.. Between this video, the one on Elden ring and a couple others, I’m not sure anyone really “need” to listen to you ramble on about art for way too long while repeating every single point over and over. Clearly your fascination with this art form is not the art part, but numbers, statistics and strange comparisons.
Cute video but turn on Adblock and skip sponsor segment.
Bro. It costs $30-50 to go see a new movie nowadays. It’s a couple hours of entertainment. No free replay. And if I enjoy, I enjoy it. I don’t see the logic of trying to put a price on my enjoyment and try to do cost-benefit analysis on what I SHOULD be doing with my time to most optionally get that most fun out of it.
It’s fallacious. It’s subjective. Let people have their fun.
Actively disencouraging people to support a small game studio despite the refreshing atmosphere and simplicity (which you mentioned) looks reeeaaaally bad on you Luke. I don’t know why you have to argue it that way. Could have just said ‘it’s overpriced’ or even better, ‘up to your gaming preference’
I said this was a must-buy when trailers were coming out but the more I saw gameplay it looked like a super cookie-cutter platformer. You don’t even have to control your jumps, you just hit a button to wherever you’re locked on to. I didn’t buy it and I think I’ll just watch someone play it on YouTube. It didn’t offer any new/different features rather than being a cat.
My dogs love this game. It’s well worth what I paid for it.
It reminds me of portal, short and sweet and beautiful
If Ubisoft generic games and EAs games are worthed 60/70 $ then i dont see where is problem with 30$ for game from small developer.
I would’ve paid 60$ for this game. You boring bastard, the experience is so wholesome and perfect. The story isn’t the main draw, it’s being a cat in a futuristic city.
I give it a nyan out of 10… oh wait, there’s a meow button. 10/10 GOTY
I took it as a sort of Inside game. It’s not meant to be challenging.
Wrong, you need to pay for indie games and support creativity, what you dont need to pay for is an other assassin’s creed or god of war….
If you are someone who only plays AAA games, you might not be able to appreciate this game. If you enjoy playing chill indie games at all, you will like Stray.
Personally, I enjoyed hanging out in the game for 5-6 hours instead of rushing through it and it was a good time. I enjoy a “mindless” game to play in between playing other more challenging games. When I was struggling against a boss in Elden Ring, I would take a break and go play Katamari Damacy for a while. It’s good to mix it up.
What a trashy video to make about an indie studio, practically recommending that people not support these smaller studios is just sad dude
“The game is incredibly easy… it is so insanely mindless that you don’t have to think about what you’re doing.”
Well shit I think that just got me to buy it tbh. Sounds like a good afternoon to me before getting back to Powerwash Simulator.
I love this game, it’s fun it’s chill it’s nice.
Currency converted, it is about 15 dollars in my country
