No, these are the games we should definitely buy, who cares if you pirate or don’t buy big AAA titles.
Stray has lots of love poured into it, it deserves the praise and success its getting, its not just a streaming game.
Thank you! I wasted my money on this dogshit, I mean, catlitter
No cat runs in straight lines in the open like that. They only run when they need to. They walk slowly, creep and look for safe corridors in cover. It doesn’t look at all like this game encourages that behavior. The cat could be a rat, a squirrel or a monkey and or doesn’t seem like it would make any difference. I don’t see how this is an immersive experience of being a cat whatsoever.
It’s too bad. I thought a game where you okay as a cat, which is an I thought this was going to be seen I first heard about. Cats are a rare combination of apex predator and prey. The possibilities are endless for gameplay hunting various species of rodents, birds and lizards. Conflicts with dogs, birds of prey, snakes, etc. Stealth and combat. Amazing exploration capability. And power ups for leaping, hearing, sight, fighting. It’s a shame, I thought it might be something more like that.
The game is great and was well worth the 30 dollars regardless of the length of the game. It has been a long time that a game has delivered such a down to earth enjoyable experience and these are the things we need in a world full of money grubbing cash grabbers. The developers deserve it and I hope that we not only get a second stray game but more games from this developer. I binge watch all of your videos and am a big fan but just like your Elden Ring review I think you missed the point entirely and the game wasn’t for you and it’s not fair telling people to flat out not support the devs. Once again a poor take from my boy Luke 🙁
Hard disagree Luke
Terrible advice..
Please pay for games folks, specifically indies.
They made a good game, they should get paid because they made a good game.
A game that does something new and unique with the medium, and does it competently, is infinitely more deserving of a purchase than something that that just follows trends, no matter how much more “substantial” and “challenging” the latter may be.
beyond any hours per dollar or supporting indie devs, I thought the game i played was completely worth my money.
Garbage overhyped game
No offense but it sounds more like the only major gripe is how long the game is, while it may be short and has many bugs even still. Discounting the entire experience unless it is free is disingenuous and honestly a d*ck move
Bruh I played this and not to shill for it, but I disagree on nearly every point
Not agreeing with you on this one
I think there’s something really not right about encouraging an audience of people to play a game only for free when its about an indie game like this, especially not one that has such heart and soul in it that you can tell the devs really cared about what they’re making. They rely on those sales and should be encouraged to keep making more, not deterred because people arent buying their game because you rushed through it and thus didn’t consider it worth your time.
Maybe this game is short but so are poems. And that game is precisely that. A small piece of art with one of the best visuals in a video game that I’ve ever seen, a great world and amazing storytelling for the budget they had. It’s so beautiful through its simplicity.
Besides you need to support this kind of games to show there’s still room for indie developers and that they are able to create masterpieces if they get an opportunity and, of course, the publisher’s money.
How much is Ubisoft paying you?
Already bought it and I’m going to buy the physical copy. I want to support this team because they delivered a perfect game, it’s fucking incredible! The story, the world, the atmosphere, THE CAT! Masterpiece of a title.
In my opinion if you would have bought a game but then watched a complete play through instead to get the experience but for free you should buy it. Especially if it’s something like an indie game or a visual novel. If a stream or let’s play replaces you purchasing it the devs deserve some of your money idk
This is why AAA developers are hopping onto the mobile micro transaction train.
Games like this have to beg for $30, while trashy mobile gachas make millions.
I was very excited to play this game and bought it as soon as it came. No regrets, I loved the game. But I also can agree with Luke about it being easy and short, don’t think Im gonna go back to replay it a lot))) But I enjoyed it. That’s what matters. For a crazy gamer who spends hours everyday on games( as i can guess Luke) it’s gonna be a little bit easy, I can understand. So rather to tell ppl not to buy it, I would recommend it to ppl who enjoys specifically this type of relaxed slow go games, better with children or beginner players.
*But* I can’t not mention the deep philosophical aspect in this game. It has a lot of touching moments, and things that makes u think about stuff. At the end of the game I had a lot of thoughts in my head.
Luke) stop making it about money
