I disagree.
I think they absolutely deserve my money.
I think this one of the few times that I strongly disagree with one of your videos/takes, this is my first thumbs down for ya. They deserve every penny that this game costs.
Buy the game please. Otherwise the studio will probably not have the chance to grow.
the game is shit tbh, not worth playing at all
1.7K – 1.2K likes to dislikes as of this point
Overrated as fuck
Classic streamer game that everyone plays, makes memes about and then forgets about it after two weeks
I was gonna make a big comment on who I disagree, but then I looked at the comment section and saw that everyone else has already said what I wanted to say, but better.
STOP saying stuff on ps plus is free. It’s not. You pay for ps plus, therefore you pay for stray.
The game have this minimalist cat adventure type and it’s was the promese since the start of the project and I adore it ; not the best game of the year but way above the average, a really good escape and a breath of fresh air.
Not ok at all with this “A Cute Game You Don’t Need To Pay For” it’s a lack of respect for the people who work on this game.
PS : Your review on the game feels like a bad review of Journey when it came out.
i will buy it when price drops to 5usd
Strongly disagree with this take. Everyone has their opinions but if this type of quality game came out on streaming service, imagine how much more the devs could do with the next game if they had more funds from it. $30 is not alot to ask for when the game is 6-8 hours of gameplay. Just because you can stream every album these days don’t mean we want to stop supporting our fave artists. How else are we to encourage new devs if we are just telling people to wait to stream it? You are one of the biggest youtubers and your thumbnail starts off the vid with “dont buy it…” ? I used to like the vids because they were objective but now you are overanalyzing every game, you forget the time to actually enjoy them.
The next time you put out an Assassin’s Creed video I hope “You Don’t Need to Pay For” is in the title 😂
Your title is a suprise . . . considering you’re a libertarian
A ONE hour boat tour of the stupid Boston harbor is 40.65. 🙄
Don’t think playing and watching is the same. I got teary at the end because I cared about Stray and thought he would find his family. I’ve never cried at a game I’ve watched, only ones I’ve played.
You also seem to mention multiple times that you “blasted through” the game in 3 and a half hours. I spent 6-7, exploring everything and taking my time. I think you usually have very good takes but I have to disagree with this one, especially when you compared the novelty of Stray to Apex Legends, a generic FPS battle royale game which has about 10 major games that do the exact same thing as it.
Stray was discounted even before it came on steam not because Annapurna was concerned about the price/game quantity but because it’s what a lot (if not every) indie studio does. A lot of indie games with small/medium publisher launch with a small discount on Steam.
Seems to me like you take offence to the simple structure of the interactive part of the game. Kind of like looking down on a certain piece of work because it took you mere minutes to figure out it’s machinations. The depth of the gameplay – which to a lot of people (and I mean a lot, including myself) doesn’t seem to be an issue for us in any way. I’m fine with the simple movement system, I’m okay with the linear narrative being 100% uninfluenced by the player. But I think you and your need to desperately find the empty hole that a game *chose not* to fill is somewhat of a problem on your part. You fail to consider that Stray is a piece of art and is centered around telling a story (much like a tv show or movie) first and foremost and asks very little of the player other than to just observe and admire. I hate to simplify it in the broadest of terms but that is… pretty much the case here. There’s always a ‘what if’ and ‘in the sequel’, but to say that BlueTwelve Studio’s doesn’t deserve at least full admission for access to such an elegant piece of media is borderline criminal.
For adults unlike yourself pal that have lives not playing video games 24/7, this game is purrfect. Working 9-5 5 days a week affords me little time to game, the shorter the better imo. I prefer me a refined short experience to a long drawn out checklist of chores.
