Stray has been one of the most enjoyable gaming experiences of 2022 for me.
It was cute, whimsical, and weirdly nostalgic; it’s so disappointing to see Luke and others rally against such a lovely product and it’s developer.
Like many in the comments, I look forward to buying the physical release and feel comfortable recommending others to do the same where finances permit 🙂
Put down your pitchforks everybody.
$30 is way too much for an indie title that can be completed in a couple of hours.
Regardless of whether or not you want to support a dev (which you can do if you feel so inclined) any reviewer on YouTube has a responsibility to steer people correctly, and the fact is the average consumer is not going to worry about loyalty to indie studios, they are going to these reviews to justify the cost.
Any game that can be completed in a couple of hours (unless it is absolutely earth shattering) should be priced at half of this games price tag.
Hollow Knight has sat at 15 dollars for years, and has tons of content (and also free DLCs) This games replay value is through the roof. You can spend many days playing before you get through all of the content it has to offer.
There is a severe lack of content in this game, and the 30 dollar price tag is way too steep.
Shill.
“Dont pay for this, even though its good”, thats how we get games like diablo immortal
Edit: the fact that you specifically say not to pay for it instead of at LEAST saying “wait for a sale” is frankly disgusting
Edit 2: it was clearly good enough for him to make a 30 minute video about how its good but you shouldnt buy it, rofl. He clearly doesnt understand that this is meant to be a chill game, not frustrating
I dislike saying this but I had a very specific reason why I DIDN’T purchase this game involving a gaming reason see since I belong to a bunch of Ebonhart Pact guilds they hate the Dominion and specifically the Khajit or Cat people in the game…
By doing this game and supporting cats I would be running counterculture to the Pact who has no native Cats in it they are mainly Dog, Dark elf and Werewolf lovers instead..
Since I’m running a whole Elder Scrolls series…I don’t want to mess up my investment with this to be honest…still this game WOULD be popular with the Dominion as they are the Cat loving faction and the Dominion has a whole assortment of…you guessed it colorful Cat people who have a very specific speech pattern and dress that are quite hated by the rest of the factions..
What is with this guy?! With his hour long reviews without making any decent points and now this?! This game was an amazing experience with a lighthearted story and just a very immersive world. These devs deserve support and this review does not
Guy quit lampooning the guy. He’s critiquing the game based off of his preferences. To him this doesn’t require you to play through and should just save your money cause paying $30 for a 3.5 hour car simulator isn’t his thing. There’s no conspiracy here just opinions
Big disagree. Buy whatever games you like and support the creators if you’d like to see more. Not everything needs to be revolutionary, open world, and 300 hours long.
Finally!! Someone who actually gets it!! I agree with you 100%!! Plus, Stray isn’t even that good of a game imo. It just feels like a tech demo than a game.
I just finished the game and I was never bothered by the mechanics or lost immersion + I got a 7:30 hour gameplay because I explored almost everything I could.
I’m really happy to see everyone disagreeing. This is now one of my favorite games and I’m personally going to spend extra money to get the collectors edition of it. Especially in hopes of a second game being released or even just seeing what the devs of this game have to offer in other aspects. This game is so beautiful relaxing and interesting and offers so much to be enjoyed. It’s been a long time since I’ve fallen in love with a game like this. It’s definitely worth purchasing ❤️
this a oof
Meow dare you.
This is one of the most adorable and fun games I’ve ever played. I used to LOVE Luke’s reviews, but ever since The Last of Us Part 2 he’s been having some really bad takes. Elden Ring, Asassin’s Creed, and now this.
I bought it and I keep running into game-breaking bugs, even after uninstalling and reinstalling on PC and it is painfully infuriating. So, I wish I could’ve seen this video before purchasing it. Or at the very least, just wait it out a bit longer.
really feels like this is just trying to be one of those “against the current” takes and it just doesnt work this time
Uff I don’t know man, I usually love your style and commentary on games, but the arguments in this video raise the question what motives do you have when making your videos. Are you trying to monetize on intentionally commenting against what’s currently trendy?
Love ya videos but in what world does a hard working dev team not deserve the money for the game they made that clearly people love. They already are losing a bunch of money by it being on the new ps plus services for free. Lost me on this one fam. Love you always nonetheless. We want good and enjoying games/experiences regardless of length or it being 5-70 dollars.
It just looks like you’re not the target audience for this type of game …. and that’s OK. There are obviously, however, many people who are the target audience for this game and love it. If you’re expecting Assassins’ Creed when you buy Minecraft you’ll be disappointed. It’s the same here.
For a mid tier youtuber I expect a more tasteful title. Respect to your opinion and all but I don’t think you respect the devs with the title at all.
