honestly have no idea why this was greenlit. wasnt going to buy it anyways even IF i had a ps5
This is a bad take imo. Not every game is a MUST buy, but people want to buy this because its chill, unique etc.
Buy ubisoft most boring game ever AC Valhalla, but don’t buy games from indie studios.
I am developer myself and its really depressing seeing how people expect software to be free. Not everyone is big corporation that sells your data to advertisers.
Software is peace of art, and this game offers something different and unique.
This is the problem with YouTube content creators. You never know why they’re wrong. Is it to be different, or is it just to make a video for a sponsor? This commentary is 100% completely wrong. Stray is hands down worth $30. The gameplay isn’t revolutionary by any means but Stray is a prime example of a great story carrying mediocre gameplay. This is a great story with perfect pacing. This notion that you don’t need to play it, or it’s not worth $30 is laughingly bad. The game has been a phenomenon since its release. There are people making videos of themselves crying while playing it and I guess there had to be a video crapping on it. Here you go people.
Why would anyone listen to this dude? Like, who the F#%& is this dude? Nobody cares about your opinion and those that subscribe to your channel must listen to any nonsense from anyone.
its free for ps4
The length thing is kind of irrelevant. The classic example here is Resident Evil Village. Took me a little over 6 hours on a first playthrough and around 5 or so on my second. It even has an achievement for beating the game in under 3 hours. And that game costs 60 dollars. But, everything else is fair game. Length could be considered fair game if people were more consistent here. Time doesn’t seem to matter in other titles as much.
Stray is a really cool game and i enjoyed playing it, I can overlook the price and length of the game, but the only thing that really bothered me is that the game is so freaking easy.
I think the difficulty in this game is perfect. Not every game needs to be Elden Ring or whatever. I want to play a nice, easy, relaxing game after coming back from work. I personally don’t enjoy difficult games and I’m not going to play them. I think it goes the same way for easy, casual games. If you don’t enjoy easy games just don’t play them. Let’s stop acting like difficult games are better and let people enjoy the side of gaming they prefer. Not everything has to be a challenge
Can definitely say I felt better about spending $30 on this than $60 on far cry 6

people triggered over a cat game lmao
L take 🥴

I think some reviewers have been looking for reasons to stand out by not recommending the game, but Luke Stevens isn’t one of them. The review really does boil down to “it doesn’t offer content that I value for the price tag.”
Me, it does. I compared this to buying a couple of movies, or a movie and an album, or having a good dinner, all things that cost $30 or more, and give you under 6 hours of initial enjoyment.
Man I took my time with this game. I’m 5 hours in and still have probably another couple hours left. People have said there’s no replay factor in this game, but I’ll definitely give it another playthrough down the road. It’s such a great world to be in.
I understand everyone has a right to an opinion but this feels like you are just being contrarian for clicks
this whole *don’t pay for it,play it when it’s free* issue sounds a lot like those dudes that buy a game on Steam, play it and refund it because it was under 2 hours and they could get their money back.
If 30 bucks is in your opinion too much, then all the power to you. Don’t play it. You don’t need to play every game out there but going and saying yeah, play it for free if you can or not at all feels like you don’t want those developers to make money on this…
The game is cute, that’s it. It’s about as interesting from a gameplay perspective as collecting cans. If you played as a little robot or even a human, nobody would care and give it a 6.
i have to disagree, this game was made with so much love and care, and just because its not a 80+ hour RPG with action and enemy mechanics doesnt mean you shouldn’t pay the dev team. They worked just as hard to create a beautiful game and especially as a small studio as they are. This game is define worth $30. The mindset you have is exactly why small studios struggle, because you see it based on price instead of the journey and story it’s telling
i almost fell asleep playing the game. hold forward and press x: the game. certainly a must have game for cat lovers and lovers of walking simulators. You have to be in the right mindset for it.
I just looked at the ‘how long to beat’ stats, and I’m definitely in the “leisure” category. Games that take other people 60 hours will take me upwards of 100.
For Stray, the leisure time is over 9 hours, which sounds right. That’s not completionist, just main and extras.
