This is the best strand type game

cat
Videogamedunkey??? Morelike videogame-DORKY HA goteeeeeem
This game really makes you FEEL like a cat
I knew he would come through thank you for this majestic catview
Which simulator did it best Dunkii?
Cat, Goose, or Goat?
i wanted an open world sandbox realistic multiplayer cat simulator. what i got was cyberpunk linear story press x to cat game with no replayability.
Its not the best indie, but the developers should be praised for the execution.
Lesser developers would have stretched it out into 5 episodes, released it buggy, and doubled the price.
I guess Dunky missed some conversation Easter eggs with a few NPCs
Cant forget the sound effects ever since dunkey’s last video
I agree with everything until he said it was better than bubsy.
0/10 terrible reviewer
First strand type game where you play as a cat
i was kinda exited when it came out, then i realised that its kinda pointless…. you can’t even fail a jump in this game… just press A or Spacebar and u will 100% make every jump …. i don’t care about the easy puzzles or the linear gameplay (i actualy like linear games, if they’re done well) , but at least give us some propper plattforming mechanics … this is just a cat on rails, solving mysteries that not even i understand myself XD …. but yeaa its a good idea for a game …
Dunkey is obviously nitpicking and biased, I win bye bye
But real talk. For thirty dollars, this is a very good game. The strong point is the thing Dunkey doesn’t acknowledge, which is the setting and story. Calling it ‘cyberpunk city’ is doing a huge disservice to it. Finding B12’s memories and learning more about this world by just interacting with it tells a heartbreaking but hopeful story. I felt more connection to these characters than I have in a game for a VERY long time, despite the brevity of their screen time, because they feel like people with actual struggles. I’m not going to get that out of a Mario game, and I shouldn’t expect to; Therefore, expecting Mario-level platforming out of a game not trying to be a dedicated platformer is similarly unreasonable. As for why the cat is in this position? Simple. It wants to be free of this miserable place it fell into. B12 is offering a route to that. So it follows B12. It just happens to be saving the city on the way, because saving the city is the only way to get out of it.
There are enough gameplay switchups to keep the gameplay fresh, and then, when it is over and the gimmicks are starting to lose their shine, the game allows itself to end, graciously closing the curtain before the emotional poignancy of its story and characters have the chance to be ground down by the developers pointlessly stretching out the game longer than it needs to be.
Stray is a fantastic game if you set aside pretense and don’t allow yourself to be so jaded by a cynical need for complexity that pretends to be depth, that you miss the ACTUAL depth on display. Don’t go in ready to gripe that the jumping isn’t honed the same way a series that has made its entire identity around ‘jumping mechanics’ for forty years (starting with a game literally called ‘jumpman’) is. Take it for what it is, have fun being a cat, and explore, read, and experience the story.
Also I have no idea how Dunkey seems to get glitched and broken copies of every single game he plays. I experienced literally no bugs like he shows here.
I agree! To add onto it i was a bit disappointed with the movement. There are a lot of ledges that look like you can jump to them, but the game doesnt let you. Comparing it to other games, portal or maybe mirror’s edge, where there are clear stylistic indicators of where to move instead of “press x here” which felt clunky to me. It would also allow for more exploration if used properly imo.
First Strand type cat
I wish the Devs made the cat a tiny factor in the story playing around it. It wouldn’t go out of its way to save people or be a protagonist, it would just stumble into situations, find something to eat, sleep and move on. Still an absolutely great game for an indie studio
This is the best indie review I’ve ever watched.
