This is why I love Dunkey, he doesn’t just mindlessly praise the game for 5 minutes straight. Even if I disagree with some of the things he says in his videos, they’re still 100x more entertaining than someone who just says the same things everyone else has said a million times before, again, mindlessly praising the game.

It’s a game where you control a cat. Something different from all the same old games flooding the market. Why can’t you just sit back, relax, enjoy, and appreciate it? Instead of picking it apart for even the tiniest details. Oh, I forgot, it is the internet. I guess time is better spent just being critical.

I loved Stray, not because it’s groundbreaking or innovating in any way, but because it’s reminiscent of older Nintendo N64 and GameCube games I played as a kid. It feels like Twilight Princess all over again, with its slightly outdated physics engine to its very straightforward gameplay, even to its inability to jump without being in specific “jumping locations.” But I mean, come on, you get to play as a cat and can meow with the press of a button. Although Stray isn’t a masterpiece, it’s certainly a game that I see filling that nostalgic void that most new releases don’t hit. With gaming in general moving so heavily away from story based single player experiences for more competitive or party PVP action, Stray was a nice deviation from the typical games that I indulge in and content that have shoved down my YouTube algorithm.
