Imo this game is absolutely amazing and I got into it like crazy. The length feels right nothing is annoying or drawled out. Pacing is consistent but not the flat. Overall the game does what it wanted to do purfectly. A couple physics bugs were all I encountered and am very happy with the game. Highly suggest people try it out as imo it is one of my most mind blown in terms of graphics.

Donkey, I’d be fascinated to see how you give your impressions of the remake of Live A Live that just came out on Switch. It’s the prettiness of Octopath Traveler with the good writing of 90s-era Square Enix with a lot of goofy Earthbound-esque shit that’s also less than 20 hours.

This feels like the Kara Demo before Detroit came out, but mixed with journey. So much can be done with this game, it can be given a story, more cat mechanics, the whole shebang. The only thing is if they are willing to do it. journey took 3 years and Detroit took 10. Stray took 6 and yet its done in 5 hours. Detroit has stretched to 3+ years because of endings people havent gotten and journey can be replayed over and over. It feels like cyberpunk on release date, but if it had no issues. And thats simply to say, put more content. Cats can do so much more and if you’re gonna make me, A CAT, do a mission. Either make it, drink milk/eat the fishy or make me semi sentient with a good story. That is all.

A cat platformer has so much more potential than this game utilized. Cats have such fluid flexible bodies for example that they can fit through tiny crevices. There could have been more sphincter tightening stealth and maze sections where you have to find where you can fit and where you can’t. Or even interesting limitations like how they can only climb up and not down, which is why you have the well-worn trope of cats getting stuck in trees. That could have also been incorporated in the game. Stray just isn’t that good as a game but its ideas are just so fascinating.

I liked it well enough. Played it for free with ps plus extra. I didn’t really have any expectations for the game but it was fine. The game is going for the whole realistic cat thing but a real cat wouldn’t be completing any of these task, because it’s just a cat. The cat can understand the drone for some reason. Some of the animations are wonky as hell, especially if you’re shaking off the little creatures while sitting still. They just wiggle the model of the cat lol. The game world is interesting tho and I did get a little choked up at the ending. I don’t regret my time with the game.

I thought the simple climbing would be a bad thing, but cats move with such ease it almost made it feel more accurate. The chance to completely whiff your jump and have to recover would’ve been fun, but as is I didn’t have a problem with mindless climbing, since most cats do just climb around mindlessly

You’re so stupid. How should the game characters treat like you a cat when the robots literally do not know you’re a cat?? They quite literally center their dialogues about how they thought you were a zurk, and they do not know what the hell a cat is. Please… So stupid. Braindead.

This game is just not worth $30. Some people I’m sure feel that it is but objectively there is not enough in this game to justify anything more than $15.
