idk about this review. I disagree with it overall, yet i can see why dunkey sees it this way and i dont feel like its unjustified.

personally, i take stray as what it is. a small indie game of being a cat. theres 10 trillion of these around. but this one is amazing for what it is. if u compare it to the biggest games in the world, yeah i can see it not holding up. but for its own category and for what people are looking for its well worth it. yes ”haha people like cat game, not real gamer” i get that, but i feel like people should be allowed to enjoy whatever they enjoy right? and for that, this is a great little gem in an ocean of games that suck ratass.

the real question is, if i want a good new game, wtf else is there to play right now?

The critic can be applied to EVERY other game that every got released though. You will never see a game without bugs, with absolut realisitc object movements and characters sometimes behaving “robotic”.

The story is great, the world is just beautiful, the NPCs are far more human than in 90% of the other games, a lot of acknowledgment of cats being cats and cat like behaviour and the movements are fluid and yes, no crashed and for a game released in current day barely bugs.

The focus was to play a cat in a dystopian setting. And they nailed it 100%.

It is also getting a lot more people into gaming. The riddles can be hard but not too hard to be frustrated.

And honestly, real plattforming nowadays like in the 90s? As if people nowadays have the patience for that. (Would love it though but we have to be realistic).

This game is a win, now that the devs know whats missing in this and y’all keep giving constructive critics, I’d say Stay II would definitely be awesome. at least id like to think so….

I don’t get what the problem is? What’s wrong with an easy game? It’s cute and the story is silly. I dunno… I like the simpliy.. not every game needs to be top puzzles and challenges, nor elden ring or black ops challenging when playing. I hear what you’re saying but I don’t understand how this game and how it handles is an issue. 🧐

I heard nothing about this game but the hype social media had about its release got me excited for the game when it launched. But when i watched some youtubers play it on its release day, it was literally just a pretty-looking, simple platformer with some level of problem solving. Now only hearing that its 5 hours long, im glad i didnt spend the 30 something dollars to play it, but hey, at least its 30 instead of the regular 60.

My impression of this game is that the devs were originally like “hey let’s make a cute little minigame where you’re a cat in a cyberpunk city and you just vibe for like an hour or two and there’s no plot or anything” but then the first trailer got super popular and Sony offered to give them 80 morbillion dollars and then went “uhhh fuck I guess we gotta try to make a real game now”
