the cat doesnt fall off beams because why would it? Cats have insane balance, theres very little chance a real cat is going to fall off a 10 inch wide beam
Wait is… is Knack actually having an influence in the modern gaming scene?
2:40 pokemon games be like
Why doesn’t he say jokes?- Donkey
Dunkey knows nothing which is why he thinks this is better than void basterds
Now we need a game with donkey to top that.
I never knew all these years dunkey is a cat in descise as a donky
ca
I swear Dunkey either has the worst luck or purposely looks for these visual glitches cos I experienced next to no issues like this.
CAT
cat
Doonky is right. Game is trash. Doesn’t even have Mario
See you know it’s legit when it says catview and not dunkview
An excellent summation of the best, and worst, of this game. I still rate it highly, but not as perfect as some do.
I think people need to keep in mind that this game is an interactive adventure. It’s not action adventure, it’s not puzzle platformer, or anything of the sort. If you like indie games like ABZU then that’s who the game is for; people who like playing comfort games. If you find yourself wanting a different type of gameplay then the genre may not be for you. I’m not saying that pointing out reasons why a game isn’t your cup of tea is bad, I do this with books, games, TV shows etc. aswell. But there is a massive difference in watching a review of the game from a person who understand the genre and what is considered to be the ideal standard from such games, and someone who doesn’t.
I’m just saying I think the gaming community needs to acknowledge interactive gameplay as its own genre as well as recognising it as the gaming version of slice-of-life. Maybe that way we can get reviews from people that actually know who the game is meant to be for and can provide more accurate reviews that will be helpful for people who actually like this genre of gaming, rather than *only* hearing a reviews from people who don’t find this genre their cup of tea. And those reviews are valid 100% but imo it shouldn’t be the *main/only crowd* reviewing ANY genre of entertainment, which is where people will gauge whether the hype is deserved – which is what’s happening to more niche genres like interactive adventure, point and click adventure, etc. People with foundational knowledge should be the forefront of whether a game deserves hype.
Dunkey however makes it clear what his tastes and preferences are, where he stands towards some genres, and if I watch a review from him on a RPG vs puzzle platformer, I know what I’m going into. And people who don’t find games like these to be their cup of tea yet still make reviews on them can be helpful for those who are looking to try a different genre of games out and/or see what is the best introduction of a genre they don’t particularly enjoy. You don’t have to like the genre to be objective. I simply would like people who **have basic knowledge about a game’s genre** – which obviously ends up being people who tend to like the genre – to be the forefront of online reviews. Reviews form people who actively like the genre are no less biased than people who actively dislike the genre. One side is more willing to ignore flaws and the other side is more willing to dismiss strengths. Both are unhelpful for both crowds of gamers.
Regardless, Dunkey is very objective here and will probably be the best mainstresm review for this game (01:46 – clearly understood the point of the game). It just gets jarring when an FPS or an RPG gets hype and it’s received with much more acceptance compared to when a simulator, interactive adventure, visual novel etc. (indie) game gets the tiniest bit of mainstream hype. People will eagerly seek to call it undeserving of the hype when it comes to genres outside the norm, regardless of whether it may or may not be considered a good game within its genre. This is no different to how audiences want people who actively read epic fantasy to be the forefront of reviews, people who actively watch psychological thrillers to be the forefront of reviews, or people who actively listen to rap music to be the forefront of reviews. That’s all this is.
Edit: I’m not saying this because I disagree with VideoGameDunkey. I’m merely using Dunkey’s video as a springboard for my opinion of other reviews as well as my desire for a change of attitude within the community.
Reading the reviews for this game on Steam made me realize most gamers really do have a negative IQ. No wonder game publishers are tripping over themselves putting in microtransactions and making cash grab games when people will buy a game purely because “cat”. Though I don’t know why I was surprised, those were probably the same people who were trying to tell you that Cyberpunk 2077 “wasn’t that bad.”
This game really make you feel like a pussy 🐈
This game is the cats pajamas
This feels like the first cat stranding game
I stopped listening to Dunkey after he said Stray was better than Bubsy
