The ability to be a cat definitely did a lot of heavy lifting, and there always could have been more, but after finally getting the game after all this time, I was just happy to play it, and it didn’t disappoint. Except when it ended. I wasn’t ready for the story to stop. ;w;

Im glad people could play and enjoy this game; I’m also grateful for this review as it confirmed suspicions I had about Stray. No hate I’m glad people got to enjoy it, but I’m definitely gonna pass on it now, thanks to this review.

I think the text boxes work well because it puts you in the context that they might be speaking another language you cant understand and the game is translating it for you. I would have the text boxes in this context over a bunch of VAs

Overall, from the beginning, I never understood why this game is presented as if it’s a great GAME specifically, as if it’s revolutionary or has extremely strong gameplay. My thoughts have finally been presented by a big creator pretty well. People went crazy because of the cat while the game is much more like a walking sim.

I’ve always thought that, like, it’s very linear and extremely simple? Not to mention you can only die when the little bug guys are around. It’s got a nice story that’s touching but I feel like it’s one of those games that if you’ve watched them, it’s not worth buying the actual game.

I appriciate you were honest on your views on this game. It does seem just like a short little game that has the sole focus on being a cat, and that is a good point about easter eggs and stuff.

Stray is 5 hours, packed to the brim with objects that have physics and heavy detail for 10gb.

It’s a small game that focused more on how a cat would play in a post apocalypse city with a story that’s more to make you question then give answers too.

It’s $30 and it sets out to try something new for s change, if there is a sequel or dlc i really hope they build something better with the blocks they used for this, even if the game locks your movement so you don’t need to worry about balancing the few chase segments bring an idea to make a timed puzzle platform game as a cat.

You have multiple methods of getting up to the roofs in slums section, and there is some of that in midtown, i can feel the cuts in this game and I can’t till if it was because of scheduling or wanting to keep a very small space requirement.

This game opened up a lot of potential and i hope publishers will take note of the great graphics and low space requirements because we’ve passed the point to improve graphics and should start figuring out methods to shrink file sizes while maintaining high quality.

I could also see this as a type of game where you don’t fully control the character and need to work with their automatic reactions to quickly solve platforming, not necessarily a dash game but a game where you need to place yourself in a way so you can jump up without your character instinctively jumping another way, im probably wording that poorly.
