Good to see a “critique with love” review. Great video!

You can trust a review when it doesn’t have dislikes.
Literally the perfect game.

No crashes? That’s at least an 8/10 these days.
I 100% the game and I have the same opinion as you, platforming is non existent, there’s a lot of bugs for a game which practically plays itself and for a game of its type it doesn’t convey any deeper story. It’s a nice short game, not bad but not special either.
That “game” put me to sleep. I say “game” cause it’s a walking/button pushing simulator. Snooze fest. iam tired of theses interactive stories bieng pawned off as a games.
Does this vid have spoilers?
I really feel like there will be a sequal that addresses all these issues.
the thing with the story not acknowledging that the cat…is a cat also confused me. i was like “why are these robots speaking to the cat believing it will understand what they are saying?”
you get a translator bot sure, but you are a stray cat that more than likely has never encountered humanoid that would talk at you.
the cat has no real reason to help nor should it have any understanding of what is even happening, but no it just…does???

Soooo………. did he or did he not like the game lmao?
I think where this game really excels is in its atmosphere, world building, and pacing. Yes, it is a simple, short game that definitely has “indie” flaws. Flaws aside, I became totally immersed in Stray’s world and the small touches where the game allows you to explore at your own pace really sold it for me. The “catnap” spots you can find where the game gradually zooms out to show you the level design all while beautiful atmospheric music plays felt refreshing and highly enjoyable.
I also appreciate that the main reward for exploration were memories/exposition related to the story. While the game would be nice with more cosmetic or materialistic rewards, the memories drew me into the story and really made me want to solve the mystery of the plot, which felt like the correct choice in my opinion.
