I’m sorry but the game having textboxes is a criticism…? Not having any dialogue *heavily* limits the kind of story you could tell, and I doubt the team had enough of a budget to go towards voice acting. Let the game tell its story the way it wants to

Stray does what it sets out to do: you play as a cat, and you do cat stuff. I can forgive the narrative question mark of a cat showing enough critical thinking to hatch roundabout plans with a robot drone, and to walk around acting as some kind of courier. It’s certainly not realistic, but it works well as a tool to justify the cat interacting with its environment. And it allows the game to show the many quirky robots inhabiting this creepy place. Their seemingly inexplicable drive to imitate humans at all aspects also makes the world a lot more interesting to explore, even though it is a cheat that saves them the trouble of modeling and animating humans on top of a cat.
It has issues with weird physics, glitches, and lag spikes, and that could’ve gone better. But the atmosphere of the game is captivating, and the immediate sympathy for pet animals makes for great motivation to wanna see this cat through all hardships. And while the gameplay is more in service to that atmosphere, I still think it’s fun.

Dunkey for president, the man speaks facts 😬😬😬 played through it on PS5 and didn’t come across any bugs and glitches but I do respect the man for his honest review

I knew the game mechanics were going to be difficult. Having. A cat you know how fluid they are, and even the intro level I saw the rough edges from their movement animations, really takes away the flow of it.
