I’m fine with the idea of waiting to release servants banners for LB7 a bit after it drops to not spoil anything. I think it’s a good idea and even the thing with Britomart design is fine because we’ve gotten this trope plenty of times since the game came out. However, when they decided to do this, they then needed to make the last 5 star they release for the year a banger and unfortunately Britomart isn’t. Not only is she apparently not the actual Britomart but rather her daughter, her skills and np make her feel like a 4 star that got bumped up to a 5 star. Her skills are very basic, the only passive skill she has is magic resistance and the only thing that I can say makes her seem like she is 5 star material is her np but her np is suppose to be anti-rider focus and 1) she is a Lancer and 2) her np is AoE so it’s only going to be good at farming rider enemies rather than being a good choice for rider bosses. It’s kind of what happened with MHX in that, sure, the concept of an assassin servant having bonus damage against sabers is interesting on paper but when put into practice, why would anyone choose to use her when they can easily just grab an archer and get the same job done without the effort it would take using MHX. Even without the bonus against rider servants, the 50% bonus damage against riding trait enemies would be fine, if it wasn’t for the fact she was a lancer and there are only 4 archer servants that have the riding trait.

tl;dr, Britomart would be a meh 4 star much less a 5 star and a limited one at that and I think it’s the fact that you have these factors when it comes to Britomart and the fact that FGO decided this to be the last servant of the year to be why the FGO community is upset at the decision to make Britomart the last servant for the year as it ends the year on a low note going into LB7 rather than a high one. If Britomart had been the actual Britomart or even if this Britomart had a interesting kit, I think the community would have at least not reacted as badly as they did to the news of no new servants till a few weeks after LB7 drops but this situation as a whole was the perfect storm for backlash.

I agree with all you said it’s frustrating to saw people unsatisfied with this masterpiece of a story, to be honest I don’t even care if there were dead 3 months, I got to save a lot of SQ (specially me being f2p player) and had a lot of time doing things in my life. These entitled fans seems they don’t have life which doesn’t make any sense how they got that much money they keep spending it’s mind-blowing for me. Btw the only thing that I was disappointed about FGO is the very small amount of reruns they had, I only play year 2020. I wish 1 or 2 years after they release lb7 they should rerun all the special events from the start with new twists. I’m not saying we should forget about the new contents, I mean we can get reruns along with new contents with proper dates and times.

Agreed for the most part (except on the generalization that “every” single FGO fan suck regardless, imho it’s just that the more annoying ones are often the loudest).
As much as I’m hyped for the new LB7 servants, I always thought it was a shame to be immediately spoiled by the banners, so I’m fine if they won’t release it immediately (also, I don’t think we’ll have to wait more than a week or so). The rest of the month will likely be occupied by the LB6 banners for the “Road to 7”.
About the “3 servants for summer”, I think it was too many as well.
I’m not sure if it will be a regular thing, but it’s very likely that they’ll repeat it eventually, since they still have to release Tiamat (and, being an exclusive on Arcade, she’ll probably be an additional “directly summer servant”, like Proto Merlin).

Facts bro! I agree on you in this video, and I do believe some fans will do a 180 when LB7 is released.
I’m kinda glad that britomart is the last 5* this year in JP, specially I don’t go hard on the JP server. A perfect time to save for me, until next years.
tbh. I didn’t even enjoyed the Imaginary scramble in NA, but It’s good that I finished event.
Also I like looking back on the servants I NP5 as well, like Kiara, Jalter, Karna, Achilles, Gilgamesh.
I DO LOVE the FGO community, but some needs to chill and try enjoy looking back on the journey they had in the game.

I’m a casual player in jp and na since they forced android users in jp to be f2p but nothing really changed for me other than I can’t roll. GSSR or invest I’m a servant I really want so I just build up on my global and wait.

As far as I understand, FGO isn’t a subscription-based game
So “dead months” are actually WORST for the devs compared to players, because no one is rolling on gacha, so they also earn less money (maybe none at all)
But the servers are still running, so they are actually losing money the longer they keep “dead months” going

i actually literally had to stop playing a couple years back *because* the constant attempt to save up and time between events/banners got to the point where it just burned me out. i like to keep up with the news though, and log in from time to time and i saw quite a few fans in a server i’m in be really rude about it. felt like i was the only one wishing they’d actually do it more often, things like this are a *nice* change of pace despite the slight disappointment of no new characters, i wish people could see it that way sometimes

Im disappointed in Britomart that her design is kinda normal and how Lasagnas just put same skill set previous servant have to her. Other than that im feel nothing. I really dont care if the game will be no content for week or month.
The game itself is kinda go down.. and the community too. Probably since Tunguska? I think. Back then Fgo commu is one of best commu i ever know…

For the Britomart bit, they’ve been doing this a lot since the end of last year, when they make “anime cut-in” in np’s but only for the 3rd ascension ( Bazett has all 3 tho). Meanwhile before, they actually made the sprite of all 3 ascensions for cut-ins. Obvioulsy, it sucks when u don’t like the 3rd ascension *or* is not your favorite one. It’s especially noticeable with Britomart because her stage 1 is SO different from the other 2. I don’t know if it’s laziness or they don’t have time, but then, why are they doing in the first place if that’s the case.

I think your final point about looking back is really poignant and something more players should probably do. I just recently had a discussion with a friend online about all their Servant experiences throughout their game, and it made me think about mine as well. Getting Amakusa in the first Chaldea Boys banner despite wanting Astolfo was crazy and silly, getting Jalter in two tickets after saving up for so long, getting 13 copies of Saber Lily in the Friend Point gacha – it reminded me that FGO is an adventure, and everyone who plays has a different story to tell. But if you don’t embrace that story, choose negativity over fun, I think it’s going to be a far less enjoyable tale to tell.

We’ve all got shit on by the gacha, and I’m sure a lot of us don’t have the ideal Chaldea (why does Kiara hate me…), but I also look back on my lvl. 100 Elizabeth, Beni, Maou Nobunaga, and Van Gogh, as well as plenty of other Servants who go me through the game and I grew to love, and I’m able to smile. Getting upset over dead weeks, no new banners, no new Servants – it will happen, people are generally negative and crabby. But just take a second to think back about your time with the game, your personal experiences, the people you met through playing it; I think that’s enough to turn some around.
