I mean… some of what was said was correct, much of it was opinion based. Goes on about Valorant not releasing actual content but mentions how they were releasing agents ~3 months and new maps every ~5 months.

Valorant gets a lot of content updates compared to other games. It was less they weren’t releasing content and more than person making the video just didn’t like the content that was released. If you no-life any game for years you’ll get bored of it.

His points about them being a greedy corporation is correct. His belief that the community banding together will make Riot change their tactics is just a bit delusional. Corporations only care about customer opinion when they’re first starting off and need to take market share. Once they’ve taken enough market share and have less or no competition they’ll degrade their quality of service while inflating prices. The only way Riot will suddenly decide to go back to quality and lowering prices is if they get a good enough competitor to scare them into action. Then it’ll just be another cycle of them pretending to care and once they no longer have as fierce competition they’ll go back to being scummy.

I could care less about the bundles or other pay content. I first played Valorant in 2022 and have never bought a skin. It’s called impulse control. I take breaks and don’t play it 24/7 365 days of the year. When a new agent, map, or game mode comes out I try it out. I play other games along with Valorant rather than no-lifing one game. It’s just healthier that way.

Overall… the game is free. Buying bundles and cosmetics is optional. As a free player you’re not entitled to demand constant quality updates. If you’re buying skins I feel you have more room to complain — but you’d also be part of the problem.

The only real issue I have with Riot being so greedy is that other companies will look at their success and try to emulate it. The bad business practices of one company are replicated if successful in generating profit.

The only way the “community” could really change Riot’s decision making is through inaction. Not buying the skins or cosmetics is one example. But that’s unrealistic. Even if you started a large petition/campaign people would still buy skins. Just like when people boycott Coca-Cola or another company… they still buy it even though they say they won’t. People, in mass, just can’t be trusted to stay strong in those situations. The more realistic approach… is to get mass people to stop playing Valorant all together. If there’s a large enough drop off of people playing and buying skins/cosmetics than they’ll see those numbers and make adjustments. But that would only be a temporary fix anyway. They’d grind out some decent content, wait until people calmed down… and go back to bad business practices.

The realistic answer… just find other games to play and stop taking Valorant so seriously. Stop buying skins/cosmetics. Treat it as a casual F2P game and check out new updates when they come. If you can’t do that… welcome to how basically any large corporation operates.
