I played both game and in my opinion, i love valorant, and csgo is just boring af. Thats just my opinion, like if valorant release as a game like csgo without abilities so its just a csgo clone, abilities make the game more fun and enjoyable.

and their anti cheat is something that feels like it invades peoples privacy then helps with cheating

After grinding cs for over a year to get to supreme, and dropping it for about 8 months, it truly is a shift in perspective. I played a ton of valorant way more often because I was enamored by the content and spin on the rigid gameplay of cs, but as I played it just kept getting more and more difficult to enjoy. I still play both games but whenever i return to cs after any kind of break at all, the immediate difference becomes apparent. Skill. Cs is so much more tactically heavy and mechanically taxing, compared to valorant which is partly luck and partly abilities. I used to grind through ranks of cs that i now struggle with just because the level required to maintain consistency in skill is so much higher than in valorant. You can watch valorant pro play and see the distinct difference in mechanics when it comes to gunplay and abilities.

I have played both CS and Valorant for countless hours, spent so much time on both that i can give an opinion:

Starting with fundamentals, Valorant and CS:GO are both “precise” gunplay and teamplay games, meaning that you require communication in order to win the match. Now for the most part, talking isnt always necessary since there is a chat function built for both, but it’s always fun to chat.

Next on the list is artstyle, now the artstyle on both games are quite different, valorant is more colourful and the development of the skin bundles aswell as characters/environments are made to appeal a younger audience whilst CS’s artstyle is gritty, made to look like a more realistic approach to tactical.

To top it off, a good game doesnt always make for good community. Both CS and Valorant are toxic: CS has been very notable for it’s russian speaking players and a lot of shouting, Valorant, on the other hand, is sometimes reffered to the “anime/furry paradise”. For me, valorant has improved (in Europe and Asia, idk about NA servers), i’m seeing little to no toxicity and very nice people, not as many anime E-girls or thirsty E-boys, so the enitre “Ara-Ara” shit isn’t as often, CS is very chill too.

On the basis, i can say that i enjoy Valorant a bit more than CS because of it’s diversity of people and designs, it’s usage of Abilities makes for greater gunplay, but to all my fellow CS players, it still remains the best game i’ve ever played

I think CS is a good game, I just don’t enjoy it as much because Im shit. I honestly think abilites are just crutches, cause without them, Im shit (CS).

As someone who has only reached Diamond in Valorant and LEM in CSGO, I honestly don’t care for the “which game is better” debate. When I want to play cs, I play cs. Same goes for Valorant.

Completely CS-goggles Valorant hit piece. I don’t mind a persuasive video essay but it is imperative that you clarify. The gameplay portion of the video, you intentionally decided to undermine the importance of abilities, by doing this you dilute the game to simple gun mechanics to fit your narrative. Valorant and CSGO are virtually incomparable because of the gameplay so it really makes no sense to include an entire section to gameplay if you don’t be objective. I suspect you haven’t really grinded Valorant the way we have grinded CS over the years and thus a lot of nuances about the game have fallen on your deaf ears. I did enjoy this video, I appreciate you for fostering a conversation about Valorant v. CSGO.

thing ab cs is that its so repetitive and easy, like once I hit global I got bored of the same old same old, but I understand the appeal and hence play it every so often, I also aint tryna say like im the goat cuz ik hitting global is easy as shit nowadays. But sm about abilities in valo makes me think more and its just overall more of a challenge for me and hence I enjoy it more
