My issue is they have a 30 second cooldown and last 15 seconds. If you use both smokes immediately and the push is stalled your just fucked.

Both of these tips are unhelpful. Clove has very limited smoke range, so lurking is to the detriment of your team. Also, if you die while lurking, your smokes are limited to that side of the map.

Dropping smokes immediately is incorrect too. They only last 13.5 seconds and have very fast deployment time. Drop them when your time is about to commit to a push.

As a controller main Dont do the first thing Yes clove can reset ‘they’ but 30 second for the smoke to return but do it when executing or rushing a site

I’m wondering why some didn’t know or never seen an iron gun buddy. I have a few of them, but I’m pretty sure that wasn’t me. I’m still stuck in Bronze. Thx for the good tipps.

Omg please do not just drop smokes at the start of the round, any (and I mean ANY) stall utility will mean the smokes are gone by the time you execute, especially since clove smokes last like 13 seconds compared to other smokers lasting 17 or more. Try to smoke close to when you are executing or at the same time to maximise the time smokes are up.

I’ve noticed the opposite which is strange. I find it difficult to lurk as clove cause I’m usually the only controller, and with her limited smoke range plus her smokes not lasting long, I feel like I have to be with the team at the start of the push otherwise I cant properly smoke. Sages utility doesn’t seem vital for a push, she could easily lurk, get a kill, and rejoin for post plant. I’m only a dia senti main though so idk 😛

I was going to say putting smokes down instantly was a bad idea but it seems like many people here already had the same thoughts as me.

In this game util can have depth and difficult to learn which makes them fun so you have to think about them more and for clove its that you need to be very good with your smoke timings because they are weak in the fact that they do t last long compared to playing brim where the value is a lot less complex bc they last for so much longer and are a lot more beginner friendly but you dont get the rechargable smokes and smokes after death
