idea the best tier 2 team or tier 2 team that won the champ plays the worst tier 1 team that season if tier 2 wins they are tier 1 and tier 1 is now tier 2 and if tier 1 wins nothing changes
How you kill a game that’s already dead?

Why are we causing a scene about this shit, league does the same shit and it is the most watched esport in history so we dont have to worry about nothing they know what they are doing.
Ok maybe u went a bit too far with the clickbait, this is old news as well
Ideally I would like to see them set up a promotion/relegation similar to the Bundesliga. bottom 2 for D1 relegated, top 2 of D2 promoted. 3rd bottom of D1 and 3rd Top of D2 in a Bo3 playoff for the last spot in D1.
but since they are coining it with the term “franchising” this wont be the case. These spots will be paid for and guaranteed to these orgs. We will have to hope that Tier 1 League is expanded to hopefully 12 orgs, a supported Tier 2 league, along with “cups” during the season that mesh Tier 1 and Tier 2, to give a chance for Tier 2 sides to prove themselves.
personally, i cant even see that happening. I see this aligning much like the OW League or CDL, whereas Valorant’s community and ecosystem is built for a “CS” type organic pyramid. I dont think franchising will be great long term but will be “good enough” for the esport to keep it going because Riot has proven it with League.
If Riot was smart. They would take the same thing that is keeping LoL espots alive and apply it to Valorant. This way the academy teams can have the academy season and then the Masters for worlds. Then maybe like an off season where relegations and promotions come. I get it is copy paste but honestly thats just my take. Riot has a thriving..but toxic esports. Val takes over like OWL did its game over.
ya I don’t like the idea of franchising…..
something like the NBA or so… we have 30+ teams and we still have good players that don’t get discovered or given a chance. ..
this is dumb :/
We Need a system like the Premier League and Championship, have 20 or 32 teams per league, and have 3 or 5 Promote or Relegate. Champions of the Tier 1 league qualify directly to Champions, 2nd 3rd and 4th can qualify for masters which then can qualify them for future champions, similar to how UEFA does the Champions and Europa League
Y tho, they never franchised league and that’s one of the biggest esports in the world. I feel like this will stifle up and coming talent and if there is no relegation/promotion system then smaller orgs are finished
Franchising is such an American thing, that it’s something that happens mostly over there. And just like using the imperial system, it’s just wrong and nonsense for the rest of the world.
Problems with franchising that I can think of right now: it doesn’t promote competition (no relegation system), only allows for wealthy institutions to participate (buy-in model) and reduces the space for new talents to disrupt the scene (less competition).
Also, only six teams? That’s a boring league.
Franchising is a terrible idea and is entirely focused on making money – if they go this route they will kill the competative scene.
Val has the advantage over csgo because the devs take a direct and hands on approach, they should use to properly. Create a football league system, where you have domestic/regional leagues, two seasons per year, then twice annual international events that are attended by the best team from each region.
They should get an idea how Valve created the regional tournaments in Dota 2, wherein there’s Div 1 and Div 2 wherein if the Div 2 team beat everyone in their division they will be put up in the Div 1 team and get tested there and if the Div 1 team get destroyed in their division they will be put down in Div 2
I think what Riot should do is have a tournament where top 4 tier 2 teams join teir 1 for a tournament. It’s like a play in but the tier 1 teams are always there while giving tier 2 a chance. Pkus with the 12 teams in each league you can add 4 teams and have 16 teams in a tournament. Mabie if the tier 2 teams play well enough they can replace teir 1 teams. Bottom line is we need tier 2 teams to be able to get to a major.
I was thinking of switching to overwatch idk
GameLeap more like leap to conclusions 💀
I feel like this can sorta turn into how college football is to the NFL. Where while the team you like may not be in the big leagues, they’re still an amazing team with a large supporting group. And like you said, people or whole teams can go from T2 to T1, and that sounds like it would make the sport more interesting and fun to watch
Imo this just make the scene better, this will also make sure that the org will do their best for the team.
If you want a game as competitive as cs. Tier 1 and 2 will be a huge leap
If they gonna implemented like league of legends franchises then I don’t have any worries
