the child trait is those who illya considers to be children not actual children
I think you’re missing the point that Saberfaces are people who look like Arturia *in universe*, So even if the style shifts canonically everyone sees doppleganger. Also Nero and Mordred are very bad examples, All Takeuchi art makes it very clear they’re supposed to look the same and Mordred is literally a clone of Arturia in universe
Interesting thing about the Child trait, people speculate that the real qualifier for it is based off if Illya herself sees them as a child or not. Which would probably explain some of the weirdness of it.
We were basically discussing the child trait thing the other day on discord and we basically came to the conclusion that Ilya is a fucking idiot that can’t tell some servants aren’t children and some are
>featherless biped
>French
You cannot have both at the same time
You cannot be human and French at the same time!
Nero’s art has changed a lot since it’s initial release
In og carnival phantasm she was literally just Artoria but different clothes
They changed her later to differentiate her
I feel like if you showed someone who knows nothing about Fate Artoria and Nero together they’d think they’re similar. Also, maybe the riding trait is actually based on riding your sexual partner, since that’s literally how Medb became a rider.
From what I remember
Baobhan sith has riding because, in her legend, she has goat feet, which she hides in game with her heel
So the game basically says that she knows riding because she has the feet of a possible mount, so she is basically riding herself
Also Carmella doesn’t have riding, supposedly because she is using a car..and i guess cars are not epic enough to be considered a worthy mount…
That or ,it’s a joke about her not knowing how to drive because she runs people over
The saber face trait is just servants that are designed to resemble saber regardless of the difference of art style
I do know that Nero was designed to look like artoria but red so fans would be drawn to fate extra due to that familiarity
While mhxa looks different she’s still the Alter version of mhx the saber face who hunts down her own kind so it checks out that they’re supposed to look the same
Tho the Jeannefaces are only slightly similar to saber and that’s mostly the og Jeanne the rest look too different to even qualify
Also someone else already mentioned this, mordred was technically supposed to be a clone, an exact copy in terms of looks but she has such a distinct design that it’s hard to believe that she is a clone but I personally don’t count her as a saber face she looks way too different even if she is one by technicality
The fact that we’ve got so many that even fit this trait is just beyond stupid at this point in my opinion I don’t want to see anymore saberfaces I’ve grown to despise artoria because of this
1:05 I glad you said that it wildly inconvenient in many ways especially the visual department and the very mature characters with a child body Asterio is a young Minotaur so he’s very big
3:27 ??
About the riding passive, It’s the Saber class standard passive, such as archers having independent action, assassin’s having presence concealment, casters having territory creation and berserkers having madness enhancement
2:25 but her original fate stay night design made her a saber but not her apocrypha design here
3:05 caught it
4:42 playing LB 2 right now Yes Mash has a riding skill because we rode on jet skis lol
youtube has unsubscribed me from you twice now 🙁
It’s hard for all saber faces to look alike when the artists have different styles.
One thing I always did wonder was why Suzuka had the Riding Trait. It never really worked with her kit of being a Crit Buster servant, and she already doesn’t have a whole lot of IRL lore to base it off of. But then I realized the naming of her upgraded first skill, “Divine Power (JK) B+”, and realized it might be a joke around JKs and compensated dating. Which *kinda* fits, because they say that’s what she manifested around for her base form. It was either that or a shrine maiden.
Was surprised “Animal Characteristics Servant” wasn’t in this due to how some servants get it for just slapping on bunny ears while other VERY obviously animal traited servants don’t have it for some reason.
Kiyohime is canonically 12, and Van Gogh I think strongly gives off the vibe of like a 14 year old. Abby in says in Imaginary Scramble that it would be nice to have a friend closer to her age, referring to Van Gogh.
