1:00:30 for Vought Flying Pancake
It had Faith of the Heart.
I love these videos 🙏
I grew up near March AFB We were home to a buttocks-load of B52s for decades. They could NEVER do that now, there are suburbs all over and freeways. “Yes, March Field and March Air Force Base (March AFB) refer to the same location, albeit with different names over time. Let’s explore the history:
1. **March Field**:
– Originally known as Alessandro Field, it was built in response to German efforts to build an aircraft fleet during World War I.
– The War Department approved its construction near Riverside, California, and it quickly took shape.
– In March 1918, it was renamed **March Field** in honor of 2nd Lt. Peyton C. March, Jr., who tragically died in a flying accident.
– Initially a training field, it closed in April 1923 but reopened later ¹.
2. **March AFB**:
– As Randolph Field became a training site in 1931, March Field transitioned into an operational base.
– It housed bomber units, including the 17th Pursuit Group and the 1st Bombardment Wing.
– After World War II, it became part of the Strategic Air Command and later the Air Force.
– In 1996, most active-duty units left, and it became **March Air Reserve Base** ².
So, both names refer to the same historic location! 🛫🇺🇸

Amazing work
When I was a DJ, I used to dream of turning up to gig’s, flying there in a XB-42 “Mixmaster” Sadly it was gone with the wind..
They always ended up making these things so complicated that they might as well (and in some cases did) add engines to it…
I feel if someone tried to build the alien style flying saucer in todays time with current 2024 tech it would be quit simple and could fly. On thought I’ll brb while i run to my massive 3d printer and some math i bet i can make one
Oh wow. I been listening to this for years and I especially adore the bit about the royals. I love this in general it has such a warm fuzzy feel
Good.Thanks.
Ahaha, USS Macron,
good one.
Always loved the X-29
And I’ve sat in the pilot’s chair in the spruce goose. It’s amazing.
Bowlus != bolas
The Doak-16 was a great plane!
What is the thumbnail aircraft?
The X13 was really something!
In-o-vit-ive?
Interesante?
Only have seen photos of the X-13. This was more amazing than I ever could have imagined. Thank you so much for all this research….
