Those gridded textures are just default developer textures. Leaving an object untextured renders it invisible, so objects used to build an environment are textured with the developer texture by default as the environment is built before actually texturing the objects properly. The developer texture objects were most likely just left in by mistake since you can’t see them when playing the game properly and wouldn’t be caught in playtesting.

I thought the layering technique was how the fur was done, but you can’t really get the camera close enough to tell for sure. That technique is exactly how Shadow of the Colossus did fur way back in 2005.

Glad to see your settling a bit more into the roll, I feel like the first episode was trying a bit too hard to just be Shesez 2. but I just brushed it off as trying to find your element

Just finished Stray today. Man I loved every minute of it. I was hooked on the game when it was first announced and it didnt disappoint at all. Well worth your time and money if you like an indie game and want a game that let’s you chill and makes it care free
