I can’t explain how mad I am about this changes
We need to organize a boycott on PoGo when this update drops
Wtf have they done
This really blows. I live on an island…sometimes we have tourists and a lot of people so even though we don’t have a huge number of gyms at times you can get a full raid going. But at other times NO WAY. The great thing has been since we do get seasonal visitors I have been able to make friends with some of them, they will come to the island for a month every year and we can play together in person but for the other 11 months we rely on playing remotely. Its such a great feeling to join a battle with someone I haven’t seen in months and it sucks that it is going away. In addition its getting more expensive.
Not to mention that I am about to have my third back surgery and remote raids were such a blessing after my last surgery. It gave me a way to keep in touch with my friends and honestly it helped me forget the pain I was feeling. It has been a huge motivator for me to do more- push myself harder.
I just wish they would look at this in a bit of a different way. If you want people to play the game in a certain way more then provide incentives don’t punish people for playing the game a certain way – that just leaves your player base with a negative feeling from the game. I don’t need to play a game to get punished- there are plenty of free punishments. If they would offer things like higher shiny odds for in person players or double stardust for completing an in-person raid I think they would see their player base get out more. At least then those who do play remotely aren’t left out and when life throws us a curve ball like back surgery that takes a full year to heal from at least we can stay involved in the game and play with our friends.
This just really feels like a huge slap in the face.

REVOLUTION TIME
Invest now I guess
Trouble is, nobody around me (in a typical suburban are) play any more. We used to have raid parties on Wednesday, but they’re no more.
I’m out
This really sucks since for more than half the year, I’m in a small rural area where barely anyone played so I relied heavily on the remote raid passes. And needed to be in a gym for 2 days was easy to do. But now it’s so much harder 🙁
So basically you need to live in a city and find about 4-5 other people that also play pokemon go to do raids.
So if you live in a average neighborhood then uuuh. Youre never getting another legendary or mega again unless you give Niantic $$$$$$
And the fact they made it bascially 200, which is two dollars. I mean one dollar is ok cause you know you can just throw that doesnt really matter. But if you wanna get a shiny? Then youre wallets probably going dry, let alone only being able to do 5 a day???? They literally just killed remote raiding.
I apologize in advance for my stiff English (unfortunately, this language is not my native language), but I need to release all the frustration that has built up in me after hearing this news.
Congrats Niantic, your game will start to die again, and you’re showing how much you’re addicted to players from small towns or rural areas who can’t afford daily or weekly trips to bigger cities. With these decisions, you start to encourage people more and more to use unauthorized relocation software. Honestly, for over a year, this company has not encouraged anyone to play their game – the daily ensense is nice, but I’m completely tired of watching another legendary bird run away and waiting for another chance to watch the same thing again. At least from the rally I was sure that the pokemon wouldn’t escape me after the first thrown pokeball, and now I won’t even have a chance to raid it, because in my small town there are no people to beat a 5* raid. Elite Raids okay way to show that people who don’t have access to gyms or raid teams don’t count for them. Also good luck to Niantic with declining revenues and the plague of spoofers in your game. In my country there is a proverb, I don’t know if you know it, so I’ll quote it: “You can’t step into the same river twice” or otherwise from the Greek “Panta rhei” – water flows like time, and as we know time cannot be reversed and it looks as if Niantic completely regrets the introduction of remotes and is trying to wipe them out of existence. Well, this is just my opinion and thoughts mixed with frustration.
Bruh this is a bad update
Might let some people on my friends list get their max friendship exp if we are close but really good chance I might quit the game now
Hopefully the game dies now. Niantic deserves it
I about to uninstall 😠😡
See niantic. This is why many of us sp00f!
Why??????? I have never done a local legendary raid ever all of my raids have been remote because nobody plays this game in my area and the people that do not not coordinate, this is so annoying
I have over 60 regular passes I can’t even use them because they killed off the player base in my town NO ONE RAIDS ANYMORE
Yep this ends it for me. Most of my friends live across the US and none of us are willing to spend twice as much to play together. So long Pokemon Go.
$5.25 for three legendaries…
