Kotaku: This game takes so much time to represent cats. I just wish it put as much effort in to represent humans.

HUMANITY IN THE GAME IS LONG DEAD (which, after reading this article, is where I feel we’re really going) AND THERE’S JUST ROBOTS LEFT!

The most representation humanity gets in the game is from stuff left behind CENTURIES after their extinction and attitudes mimicked by the robots they created. There’s ALWAYS a possibility for inaccuracies due to this, but even then, I think humanity’s LEGACY was represented well enough in the game through the eyes of robots and cats, both good (e.g. art, music, food) and bad (e.g. Neco Corp (or corporations in general)).

I played this game, absolutely LOVED it, and I just gotta say… there’s more than just the “orientalism” in the cyber city??? I felt that the way the city was built was very realistic to how it could have been built under the circumstances. I’d say more, but the city itself is kind of a spoiler. Honestly, overall I saw nothing problematic with the game, and I find it disgusting that Kotaku is trying to make it something that it’s not.
