Let’s see Niantic ban DeFit users
A serious question…how is an auto-catcher not cheating? Is is b/c niantic make their own?
I hope it’s true because it would get rid of the toxic gym “owners” in my area, but seeing is believing so yeah… I’ve never cared for the people who just “want to play the game” and want to collect shiny and rare mons, but it’s the toxic players spoofers that ruin it for them. We should advocate for the rural spoofers though. A new system of creating pokestops needs to be implemented, for example Niantic have been creating “Niantic” pokestops at in-person events, right? Well, make it happen every certain amount of distance in areas that don’t have any stops… maybe unrealistic but something needs to be done to help them out.
If poke-genie is grounds for getting banned I’ll just stop playing. Lol
i spoof and honestly , spoofers help more the community than normal players, we fill up and help you complete hard raids , he help achieve comunity goals etc , the only thing that spoofers harm the game is gyms (coins) and having OP pokemon for pvp , i dont do gyms or pvp , but we honestly help the community way more than regular players realize, we also probably make up a larger % of the playerbase
What are your thoughts on the rockers that hatch eggs for you? I don’t believe they would have a way to detect it but maybe I’m mistaken.
Since I already left a longform statement, I figured I’d leave another today to address the more prevalent issues.
As someone who was notorious for using and implementing a lag switch in MW2 during Xbox 360 days in private matches, 100% to the ability to utilize a lag switch in between your remote connection nowadays to flip on-and-off the connection to get the jump on the opponent and end up getting first Charge Move advantage, as well as the occasional triple shield glitch. Not that I have ever attempted doing so, but I know the timing for other titles and that it can be done without server ejection/detection if done sparingly.
The fact that both of these even still exist is absolutely baffling to me.
Niantic only cares to fix what isn’t broken. If any old idiot like me can figure that out, who’s to say that after they’ve canned every spoofer that there won’t just be another app that does it, another workaround, or a utility that is *actually* maliciously manipulating the PVP circuits?
There is not one single spoofing app that allows for interaction with PVP battles. At all. So I don’t really see why it’s an issue.
At the most, it’s only functioning with Team Leader Training or Team Rocket Grunts, which is absolutely a timesaver for the personal user during events where Niantic will not by any means allow any trainer to disable them so that you don’t get stuck in a Team Rocket message hangup or stuck clicking fifteen times to get back into the Spotlight Hour’s last five minutes during frantic shiny checks. Doesn’t change the rewards, doesn’t affect leaderboards or rankings, all it does is benefit the player in terms of progress on their achievements.
General rule of thumb being “don’t be a jerk to other people” but even without spoofers, people would still be malicious to guarantee they can stay at Rank 20 and hoard Legendary and Pikachu Libre from everyone else. LEGIT players do this without spoofing and breaking guidelines, then turn right around and sell them on eBay, which is ALSO against terms of service of Niantic.
All we’re doing is working to supplement one problem for another.
Over a decade later and the lag switch trick still works for MW2 lobbies, if it puts it into perspective. It’s expanded to other titles now.
Spoofing would not be a problem if they didn’t complete cripple the event hours to worthless durations and make collection of Rare Candy XL and Candy XL so tedious.
Spoofing would not be a problem if they didn’t paywall Pokemon behind raids and didn’t make some Trainers get the Hundo in four raids whereas the friend playing right beside them will have to do 400 raids to get the same thing.
Where is the balance THERE?
All you’re going to do is replace one problem for another where the title will inevitably just be pay-to-win, which it already is for anyone who took a break against those who stayed with the game since day one AND any players who did cheat but went back to legit in any timeframe before reimplementing the anti-cheat system.
If by “grind” they meant “go into every event with at least 4-6000 Pokéballs and throw away items from paid events to make storage since we won’t” as the baseline to force people to pay up when they run out and still haven’t completed the event, it’s malicious.
Three-hour events and mangling incense was malicious.
Event-exclusive regional-exclusive Pokémon that never return is malicious to the common player.
And guess what all the tweets and YouTuber videos addressing it did.
*ahem*
Nothing. Not a single thing.
Literally everything about this title can be taken as a burden upon someone, so Niantic should just burn it all to the ground and start over at this point, right?
That way all the Level 50 players, like TrainerClub, ZoeTwoDots, Poke Daxi, ProPlanty, TrainerTips, Mystic7, and like all of the other YouTubers who have spent six years working their hardest can be on an even playing field as the guys who are just starting.
Makes total sense to me, and it builds that
*Ahhhhh*
Sense of “cOmMuNiTy”
Right…. Right??
You’d change your tone if it affected you, I’d put a substantial amount of money on that right there.
In my actual community, you get funny looks or _hit by oncoming cars_ for playing Pokémon GO by someone *actually* texting-and-driving, but let’s just give folks that push that they need for Niantic to be on the news again.
How is gaming one of the most broken systems altogether that there is?
PoGo is that mixed with a literal ongoing social experiment to document the movements of large populus groups and gather their data en-masse to support further projects and AR/AI technology.
We pay Niantic to work for them, and they screw us left and right.
Want to know the craziest part about why spoofing can be seen as a ‘problem’ to Niantic?
Spoofers cannot safely scan In-Person locations and create PokéStops via Wayfarer in order to supplement the mass horde of Niantic’s AR and global positioning system data to build an AR world model. So spoofers don’t generate the data that makes Niantic the big bucks off of our work as a global playerbase, even though we often pay even more for events and tickets than the normal or average Trainer would.
They do *not* care about the game, just the data allocation and the money. Countless comments here are screaming that as loud as they can into the void.
If they did care about the game, they wouldn’t portion out generation releases by like five Pokémon at a time over a six month span before releasing five more and milkin’ interest in an ever-aggravating system and cycle of attention-grabbing F.O.M.O manipulation for as long as they possibly can.
To the folks that take issue in spoofers getting PVP IVs, take a moment to ask yourself why Niantic has taken this long without making them so much as remotely accessible to others to even the meta and play field, why Niantic hasn’t implemented a Candy method of raising or lowering IV’s, and why Niantic continues to leave the PVP system itself broken to where it does not match those who DO have these things against each other?
You don’t have to ban someone to make it hurt.
Just make it an even challenge for them so it becomes toxic for spoofers *against* spoofers.
All, and I mean ALL of what I’ve said so far is a *Niantic* problem, not a spoofer problem or a legit player problem.
Cause if it’s really that much of an issue for people to have really powerful stuff en-masse, they’re going to beat BrandonTan91 into a literal puddle with the banhammer since he legit has thousands of extremely solid Pokemon.
When they start striking legitimate players for PVP issues/cheating and server lag after re-implementing the anticheat, then we’ll all see that the issues were from Niantic all along. Mark my words.
It won’t stop before they ban legitimate players, and even when they do, it’ll be at least a month or two before they get their accounts back from Niantic and a spineless damage-control Tweet from Niantic Support.
Twitter on Niantic’s end will be radio silence, it’ll be another wave of #HearUsNiantic, and Twitter will remain radio silence from Niantic while all the content creators on here make new videos about why the new anti-cheat system is hurting the game.
Oh, _bUt iT’s wHaT EvErYoNe wAnTeD!_
As much as I’d love to be a voice for the platform, for the game, and for us all as a community, I don’t have that kind of platform.
You guys do.
And you’re feeding us to the wolves by silence to save yourselves.
Not to mention, Trainer Club’s own branded Go-Tcha Evolve technically breaks Niantic’s Terms of Service since it isn’t a Niantic-authorized GO Plus or PokeBall Plus device, but I certainly don’t see TrainerClub telling people not to buy TrainerClub’s device in order to avoid a risk of bans and help pay with travel costs that many legit players do not have as an allocation or advantage.
*sips tea*
But that’s none of my business.
You are sponsored by Niantic, of course you are going to tow the company line
I just started back playing and I’m enjoying the game only because I’m allowed to spoof. I don’t really see the huge deal with it but in my opinion Niantic will never be able to get rid of spoofers just like apple can’t get rid of the jailbreak community. The only way to beat them is actually implementing changes that fixing the real issue with people in rural area like myself. Honestly if they was to strike my account I don’t see how they could stop me because I could possibly make another spoofing account and just trade the pokemon I get from spoofing.
They’re serious!!! I’m under a 30 day right now I’m done
One of your reasons is ‘bragging’ lmao. Sounds weak to me. Like you said we’re all adults, we all choose what to do. You choose to play fair and that’s fine, some choose to spoof. That’s fine too, at the end of the day we can all have shundos, we just have to make that choice to do so. So why feel bad because some people brag? Who cares, at the end of the day, it’s just a game. Play it as you like and call it a day.
If you think spoofing is good at pokemob go
Spoofing is bad in their other games especially ingress.
Is using poki genie ok?
yea so people if your gonna spoof just use alternative accounts
Finally…
I used to spoof years ago. Not like a madman. Public transit in my town is terrible, shady people all over the place and a lack of gyms/stops. Most of my students spoofed as well, because most of them (13-17) did not trust traveling out of town. One of my students was/is paralyzed, and couldn’t play at all until spoofing became an option. None of us got more shinnies than our “fair players” nor did we take over gyms that were not ours. It was supplemental to offset the physical and economical barriers that we all face. Since the ban waves, none of those players are active anymore. I still play casually (and completely fair now), but the hardships are still there and in-game price increases make spoofing look tempting again. The best way to solve the “spoofing issue” is to do what they can within their game to make spoofing an unnecessary option. Banning players with take down good people as well.
I will be honest,I think someone who spoofs makes it unfair advantage. Yes I’ve gotten a few shundos by catching. But I actually got my first shudo legendary from a raid last week . spoofers have the same advantage as a regular player, when it comes to raids. You have no garontee that you will get one or not. Luck of draw. So I ain’t see how you consider that it is cheating.
You yourself probably have more shundos than me. Besides I work 11-12 hours a day 5 days week. Which has no time to go anywhere. So how am I hurting anyone else.
I missed the answer on the question: what if you’ve spoofed in the past? Does it go with the immediate action by Niantic for spoofers if they detect it now? So people who did do it in the past but stop doing it now, are not at risk?
So my question, not addressed in the video. I created an account for my son, but we sometimes take turns on the same device. Or i sometimes log in his account in order to drop a pokemon in a gym so he can get coins. I also use my google play account to purchase coins for both accounts. I noted in the announcement that having multiple accounts is also an issue to niantic. So, are the activities I have been doing going to flag as a multi- account user. I hope this comment doesn’t catch any unwanted attention.
There is literally a youtuber that spoofs in the open and bans people who ask why are you spoofing lol
